Somehow, Blake's, Jason's and Dex's fathers got ahold of these paintings and after WWII ended buried them at the bottom of the artificial lake on the Carrington estate. Somehow before his death Roger Grimes got ahold of one which he gave to Alexis - later she had it appraised and learned about its dirty secrets which she was able to use to save ColbyCo et al by using it and her knowledge as leverage/blackmail against Sable.
@dansby37 Жыл бұрын
And that right here is the difference between Alexis and Sable, they are very alike in personality as after all they are cousins and were once close, but Sable does have a heart and family is what is most important to her and is also always her trigger, she doesn't get mean and manipulative and stop at nothing to get what she wants in order to protect , unless she deems a potential harm will come to them. Otherwise she will stop if she feels that the family will be harmed by her actions. Alexis, has no such qualms or filter, at all, LOL, mess with her and things she feels entitled to, and she will stop at nothing to protect what is hers or if she cant, destroy it all, family, children, it doesn't matter, if she loses she will take everyone down with her. Sable immediately saw this and knew Alexis meant it when she said " I will fight back with EVERYTHING that I've got!!" She knows how Alexis rolls and that is why she backed down, not because she couldn't take her down, its because the cost of doing so would have been intolerable to her.

Stephanie was great but not enough to save this, By the 9th season, the writing had degenerated. They were incapable of compelling storylines. It started when The Colbys debuted, draining the talent. Unfortunately, they never recovered. A lot of disastrous choices were made, such as losing vital cast members etc.
@ΝίκοςΣτεργίου-δ4κ2 жыл бұрын
Actually, Dynasty's ratings declined as a result of the disappointing aftermath to the Moldavian massacre, which was very rapidly wrapped up and done away with -- the main course never matched appetizers (cliffhanger and all), and viewers felt cheated. However, the Colbys was a lot better scripted than Dynasty at that time. It's been an underrated show imo.
@brandonleeaguilar2 жыл бұрын
@@ΝίκοςΣτεργίου-δ4κ The Colbys was not better scripted. I watched it during the pandemic so I know. It is awful. Even Barbara Stanwyck hated it. I also disagree that Dynasty’s decline can be traced solely to the aftermath of the Moldavian massacre. Season 6 and 7 were witty and bright, and still got good ratings: Alexis masquerading as a nun. Caresse coming on board. Krystal kidnapped by her evil twin Rita and George Hamilton. It is by season 8 and 9 that whole show collapsed and became utterly unwatchable. Fallon abducted by aliens. So many of the regular cast members departing, those are the storylines and elements which caused the decline of one of the best shows of the 1980s.
@ΝίκοςΣτεργίου-δ4κ2 жыл бұрын
@@brandonleeaguilar No, Dynasty's decline indeed began rapidly after the first episodes of season 6 (this is documented), whose plots had become too simplistic, almost childlike in that they put characers in impossible situations and never carried serious consequences: plots were quickly forgotten, as if nothing of impact had ever happened. The Colbys, on the other hand, presented a drama with a hard resolution, in the sense that Sabe was both victim and culprit, a multi-faceted personality for once, not a caricature. Barbara Stanwick had been unfair in her critique of the Colbys. To begin with, when you sign up for a soap opera, you already know that it isn't going to be equivalent to Shakespeare, and her role was that of a decent, classy old lady who could hold her own. What did she hope to play at that age? Wonder Woman?
