Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower kzbin.infoUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.

I found your video in my review search while shopping for a tiller... Wow that's some fancy camera work, nice touch getting your Tiller wet . You might want to add a blonde fabio wig and wind machine... lol love it

You forgot to release the wheel lock so the tiller rides or walks on the blades only not the wheels as you till. I used the same one on my back yard and it a workhorse. It down about 10 inches into the hard compact clay and turned it into powder
@craigcarroll61614 ай бұрын
For what he was doing, leave the wheels down. He doesn't want to go deep, just loosen the soil for grass seed. Lift the wheels if you are cultivating or tilling a garden and want to go deeper. Also, that looked like a thin 16 gauge ext cord which is too light for your 13.5 amp cultivator. Spend the 50. and get a 12 gauge rated to flow enough amps to run that motor at full power and not overheat it.

A constructive criticism: take out the music, especially while you’re talking. It’s distracting. You’re doing a great job though.

Great vid, we bought a tiller similar to yours but our model does not come with trailing wheels, so you have to be careful when starting it as it will tend to run away quickly so we have to hold onto the handles firmly!
@glyncolman890110 ай бұрын
Do it after a good rain as this will soften it. Also raise the wheels at the back.
@donniespriggs38952 жыл бұрын
I don't think he installed his blades correctly. Their backwards.
@pedromarchessini2503 Жыл бұрын
What he did was not release the wheels or unlock them to move them upward so the tiller does it job and not just roll around on wheels as you till. The tiller suppose ride in the blades not the wheels

I bought the Sun Joe 13.5 Amp 16" tiller and just tried it yesterday in my garden that laid unused for 4 years. The soil was covered with bermuda and was hard clay with some sandy loam mixed in. It is a good tiller. It chewed right through that hard ground. It bucks some, and my wrist hurt at the angle I had to pull up to use it, but, its tougher-n-pine knot. So, I am pleased with the purchase. I broke up a spot about 25' x 6' and then quit for the evening. I would set the tines in the ground and let it churn the dirt, then raise up on the handles, and let it sink deeper into the soil for more depth, that is what I mean by it hurting my wrist, it was self inflicted by how I was using it. I wanted to see just how deep it would go. Anyway, So far so good. I cannot speak to longevity, just its ability to cut through hard packed clay soil, and turn it to powder. For as light as it is, it is tough! I have a Troy-built Tiller, but wanted something smaller for a backup and smaller jobs, and this is perfect for that.
@larryseago7303 жыл бұрын
p.s. I live in Mississippi, red clay country with sandy loam. So you know the type clay we have here. when moist it is like gumbo, and when dry, it is super hard.

I might get one I just started up a garden today but right when I went to till it my tiller went out so I ended up borrowing the neighbors. I didn't want to be gone forever with his tiller though so I only got a portion of what I plan so this one here might be what I need especially for the cost to quickly replace my old gas one. Also coming from Mississippi
@larryseago7303 жыл бұрын
@@bigtommy2556 Your tiller may just need some work. My Troy-Built had old gas in it, and the carb was clogged. I took the carburetor apart and got it going again with that and a spark plug change. my old plug looked clean, but needed replacing anyway, and those two things did the trick. There are videos how to do most anything if your like me, and are not a small engine mechanic. I just watch them, and monkey see monkey do. It helped me with my Carb and plug on my sthil weedeater too. Same issue. Same result. Good luck and I hope you have a great garden.

I just bought one. It does a better job if your soil has been watered. I am doing a 550 sq ft area that gets watered daily. Pulling up the entire lawn because of St Augustine grass thatch that's about 8inches thick ugh. Lawn mower wouldn't mow it anymore. This tiller is a LIFESAVER!! So it's ok to use a hose on this electric appliance? I've been hand cleaning
@jomyjoseph12942 жыл бұрын
I am in the exact situation. I have got a 10,000 sq ft lawn with St Augustine grass that I'm planning to remove using this. Replace with Bermuda.

Do you really need to call 8-1-1 for such a shallow depth though? I figured irrigation is the only thing that shallow. 8" is the max of that tiller, but we probably only till maybe 3-4" ish.
@strawberyyicecreamdream2163 жыл бұрын
Yes by law you have to call if you do really any digging at all. Technically even hand planting a small plant.

Appreciate the video. One touch of constructive criticism would be to lower the introduction length. And the needless shots of a rake in front of the camera. I appreciate videos that get right to the content without too much exposition; my opinion! Thanks again.

You're right. I was expecting to see the tiller's performance to get through the grasses. He hardly showed it. Showed more of a photo session of the product (in sun, in water) than how it worked. That's because I think this was a paid video.

I thought about this and Aerator Or I'm thinkin about paying a guy $100 with a bobcat to scrap the entire yard then Pay another guy to drop 18 tons of Top soil Then tell the Bobcat guy to spread the top soil
@thelawnchairchronicles6943 жыл бұрын
If you can get the bobcat and dirt on the cheap, that sounds great. You can also use the bobcat to start with a level surface, which I wish I could have done. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I loved your video and appreciate the work and editing. It was really cute and I decided to go ahead and order one on Amazon. I didn’t know you could remove grass with them. My husband rented a grass remover thingy and a tiller a few years ago. Had he just tilled the grass first I see we could have just raked it up. We’re definitely using this method. New subbie ❤️
@HEAVENTWA2 жыл бұрын
The one you demonstrated with 3.5 amps went up in price about $30 to $155.80 on amazon in the past few days. Is this because they raise prices for lawn products during the season when people start planting new lawns and tending to their lawns, or am I being cynical.
