Does the Technics SL-1200MK7 Pitch Control Have Dead Space?

On second thought, what I think is going on is this: From 0%-6%, the adjustment acts as you'd expect. Then, at 7%, it actually makes an 8% adjustment. Then, from 7-8%, there's no change. So, technically, I think you're still reaching a -8 to +8 adjustment range, but the space between 7-8 doesn't do anything.
