There was a question today that asked if John 3:3 contradicts John 3:16 I have to tell all you my brothers and sisters that the Lord cannot contradict himself. 2 Timothy 2:13 - If we are faithless, He remains faithful-He cannot deny Himself. Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Malachi 3:6 - For I the Lord do not change… Titus 1:2 - God who never lies. Jesus tells Nicodemus is John 3:3 that a person must be baptized (made clean and renewed) in the spirit. Jesus then continues with telling Nicodemus that he doesn’t believe in anything that He is saying. Concluding with: John 3:16 - Who ever believes (Remember Nicodemus doesn’t believe the message that Jesus is saying) in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. This is not a contradiction but rather a command that Jesus is giving to us the future reader. That you will be born a new in the Spirit and believe the Message of Jesus Christ.
