So basically Kyrgyz and Kazakh men are able to kidnap any woman and marry them either with their permission or against their will. While their respective governments have some laws in place against it, not much is really being done to discontinue the practice. Also this act of bride kidnapping was a common tradition in steppe nomad culture (the same culture of the Mongolian Empire of old). There's your world history lesson!

@@user-qu8eu1dg3f Yeah a lot of people who don't know much about geography or history will likely think that all of the -stan countries sound similar, and Afghanistan is likely the one that comes to people's minds the most (honestly, that's probably due to all the stuff that is happening and has been happening there, at least partially.) Pakistan and Kazakhstan are probably the ones people think of secondarily, just due to them having historical connections to much more well-known countries (India and Russia respectively)
