Barabash here. the car actually uses very little to none models from Bete. they have textures in common and that makes it look similar. dashboard and interior (heater panels etc.) is scratch modeled, traced on top of another model and imo it turned out better than i expected apart from textures. the chassis is based on Covet, not bete. Gti missing tachometer is a bug which i fixed. AWD and RWD was my own idea to add in the powerful versions. the idea behind amsterdam not having sunroof is that its open. you can choose between 2 types of sunroof in the configuration. the mod is under active development and it's still being worked on

The only problem that I have ever had with your mod is the lack of originality, let me explain, the quality of the mod is relatively low, the 3D modeling is 3/10 the relatively realistic damage that does not have streching its really nice, it meets the fair requirements to go through the hoop of total garbage but the problem is that it is directly a golf and it is something that many may like but not me personally, I think that if you want to share your mod it would be better as a car with a real brand than trying to sneak it in as an original car the same applies to other mods that have come out recently it's not that they are bad it's that they simply try to copy real cars as original cars and i think its better to take inspiration in a car to make your own original one, even if is this low quality it might be better if its original, such as the hirochi ccf2 it takes inspiration on mazdas and maybe subarus to make a new ground up mod based on car concepts that already exist

a "little" note about the lights: the tail lights are actually really broken since they're apparently from either the aw bete or the 89 pessima or covet, only the left reverse light is properly done, both lens and internal textures are present and it's visible while the right one isn't that only has the internal texture and it's really dim. the indicators have an orange lens but the internal texture is red, and on the jento/jezza the reverse light has an orange lens but the texture is white and the right one is dim. on the hatchback the internal model of the tail light is spilt vertically in two (brake light and tail light) while the exterior texture is diagonal. there are two foglights for some reason, the normal but huge in the bottom of the bumper with a poorly done texture (looks like they just cropped the headlight texture and slapped it on there) but both the internal and external lens texture are present and visible, then there's a second foglight near the front indicators on the bumper and it's tiny and it only has the internal texture wich is dim. the other "light" is for the daylight-running-lights (that option before the low and high beams on the headlight switch in cars) and some mods managed to actually make working dlrl (daylight-running-lights) and made it toggleable with the keybinding for the headlights and other mods (including beamng) just keep them on forever without an option to toggle them. in my opinion the mod dev should've either [1]not included that part [2] made toggleable dlrl [3] made the dlrl turn on with the headlights. the mod is, over all, decent; it definitely needs a lot of fixing and a rename. i'd give it a 6 out of 10 for the effort and work that went in to it, but excluding work and effort i'd give it 4 out of 10. edit: forgot to add that it's missing the rear fog light, (mandatory in Europe) unlike the aw bete; also the hazard switch doesn't blink ,again, unlike the aw bete . another thing that should be reworked a bit, is the door toggles or handles or whatever they're called (the green boxes) which should be re positioned closer to the door handles both inside and outside and should be more flush with the bodyand that would add a bit more quality to it edit 2: there are rear fogs but the internal texture is opposite to the external lens texure, same for the taillights (taillights and brakelights are together in a single light). the headlights have the external texture but not the internal one. the car wiggles a bit. on the hatchback the rear indicators have both internal and external orange textures (unkile what i said earlier). when the lights are on the gauge cluster goes white. the engine doesn't move. in the boot the textures are weird and there are panel gaps between the taillights and the hatch , the hatch liner panel thing is missing. on the jesta/jezza the rear fog is on the right (it should be on the left) , has an orange lens, has a white internal texture. still on the jesta, the outer bigger tail light for some reason changes in brightness whith high and low beams and the boot doesn't open and thank god that it doesn't because it's really badly done. there are other things that if i list them you woyld be reading this until next year so i encourage you to move around in freecam to see other mistakes and what I'm talking about, mainly what i mean with internal and external light texture

Barabash has made some decent mods before,but i think he should probably try to keep his mods smaller (the covet type rs is a pretty decent mod,doesnt look terrible,most issues caused by updates,i think,as in a beam being named int_strw rather than dsh2,probably caused by an update,cannot say that about the covet 3 though,maybe he should have polished his covet 3 mod rather than releasing this,then released this and polished it)

In Europe there used to be another version of the Jetta called the Vento. It was available IRL with a 2.8 liter VR6 which is awesome. There is one for sale for 10 grand right now. None of the VR6 models except the Beetle RSI are equipped with AWD. (By the way, 4WD is more like a offroad gearbox with selectable AWD that can also be switched to FWD/RWD, depending on what model) Yes, all GTI models, even the MK1 and MK2 Golfs, had a RPM gauge. In some models I think they also added a tiny clock as well as a replacement for the giant one.

Even if this mod isn’t perfect I was ecstatic to see a MK3 Golf finally added in the game. Back in the 90s my dad had a mk1 rabbit with GTI running gear so it was more or less a sleeper lol. His friend had a brand new dark green 1996 VW golf with a 5 speed manual. It was a base trim and had steely wheels at the time. Long story short they used those cars to get away from someone who was shooting at them and chasing them all around the valley and back roads. Thankfully they escaped and got the cops on the guy. Fast forward to around I’d say 2013 his other friend was selling a dark green 1996 VW golf with OZ superleggera wheels, with willwood race brakes, and looked lowered but not slammed or anything it just had sporty suspension. It had a 2001 Audi TT 1.8L bug turbo swapped engine producing around 400hp to the crank. Me and my dad were excited and drove to pick it up in Portland Oregon where it was transported from Arizona. We drove it home and I immediately feel in love with it. It was one of the first cars I’d driven on my own once I got my license apart from a mini van we owned lol. It genuinely felt like driving a FWD Group C car from the 80s because of the raw power it made and how well it handled. It basically was re engineered as a road going race car 😂. I later learned that was the same car my dads friend had when they got chased that night years ago. He said that their light weight hatchback cars were what saved them and I will never forget it. This car holds a special place in my heart because of that. Once I saw this released I immediately recreated the car in all the details I could get it to. It’s probably now my favorite Beamng Car mod so far.

3:44 If i’m not mistaken, the middle ones with the blinkers are actually the DTRL, the bottom ones are the fog lights and the bigger ones are obviously the normal lights and high beams. DTRLs aren’t in beamng or, only the LED ones work when u turn the car on. That’s why they arent working.

Alright so, yes I do believe you are being too harsh. I am a modeller, I have 3k hours of modelling time, in fact I have made a model of this very car, so i know exactly what Im talking about here. Low poly does not mean low detail. It takes days, weeks, to make models, and a model like this one i can see taking at least a month to make if you work on it EVERYDAY. Specially for beamng drive, which requires almost everything on the car to be modelled, down to the naked chassis of the car to the underbody, things that are hard to find good reference for, I can see there was pure passion put into this mod. The model I made had around 80k poly count, and it wasnt even half as detailed as the interior and engine bay this mod has, mine was way more bare bones since it wasnt for beamnng, and still it took me almost 3 weeks to make. And we are just talking about modelling here, imagine the coding that goes into this. Making mods for this game is incredibly tedious and requires really good knowledge, honestly most of the "bugs" you found arent really bugs, more just small things that require tweaking, so yeah, I believe this deserves the opposite of all the hate, it deserves some love
