Does this Rinotuna Art Tutorial Work? / Testing Twitter Tutorials

This is the fastest way to paint (in my opinion). I wanted to try out some twitter tutorials to see if they actually work, since I usually just bookmark and never look at them again.
This one by Rinotuna worked out pretty well, so I wanted to show the process of trying it out. In the future I would like to continue trying out other tutorials to see what works and what doesn’t, and maybe rank them. Of course, my art style studies aren’t going away, I just would like to try something different now and then. It’s boring doing the same thing over and over again, isn’t it?

glad I’m not the only one spending the most time on sketching + lineart. Always shocked how my speedpaints ended faster in the painting stage

Idk if anyone mentioned it, but that Twitter tutorial comes from a live he made here on youtube, ita about 3 hours but if anyone wants to understand it even more clearly by watching the steps made by Rinotuna itself its easier to comprehend than by just looking at the "tutorial"

Seeing the time breakdown was something super helpful that I wasn't expecting from this vid. I thought I was some big slow dumb dumb cause of how long it takes me to do some stuff

Yes, please make more videos like these. Its whats missing in the youtube art space. I always come across tutorials on twt or other sites and wonder if they actually work. Having another artist test them out is very useful

Very nice, trying to find a way to have shadows more easily done and rinotuna’s way is what I’m trying next. Also nice inclusion of YGO master duel music you picked a banger!

Yeah... Art "tutorials" which need so much knowledge in the first place. By the point you learn about shadows, how the light bounces, how lights change the colors of an object and etc., imo the person following the tutorial won't even need it. I would call it more like a reminder, a tip, or something similar. That said I still like these step-by-step drawings, its kinda fun to see how the artist thinks and how its different from your own way of doing stuff. also, neat drawing.

You can't rly condense all the information you would need into one short magic How To Be A Great Artist tutorial, that's vastly underestimating the amount of knowledge required. Tutorials like this are meant for workflow, processes or tips on how to do a very specific thing, it's on you to figure out or find how to do the other things that let you successfully apply these tips.

Helpful vid, thanks. I appreciate the transparency on what your actual thoughts are and how long it took. I do feel like the process is a bit advanced for beginners despite how simple it presents itself. I personally paint the AO manually after I lay down the shadow but to each their own.

I was following the steps quite nicely until step 5, somehow when i changed the layer mode the shadow color on the skin and clothes becomes too light and transparent, idk does anyone have any idea to overcome this problem? My knowledge in color theory suck ass. Edit : Nvm i forgot to clip the overlay layer to base color lmaooo
