It really did the trick for that cyanobacteria! And hopefully it won't come back. Particularly in the Betta tank! ~Ron

Oooh blue green algae!😮i bet it will disappear! I i love that farming technique with terra cotta pots! Ive never used those products before peroxide and the green clean. The bleach should kill it! 😂😂😂 whos annette a net lol loved that!

@@pelhamsaquatics I’ve got a follow up. Spoiler alert! Turns out it looks like that stuff did the trick. Bleach works on it as well. Just not in with the critters. I still love cartoons and Phineas and Ferb are among my favorites.

Tanks for sharing. I used the Boyd's chemi-clean and it worked. Surfactant IIRC. Didn't kill anything I could see, but like most chemicals it's probably not good for you or fish. Add lots of aeration iirc.

Tanks, Merb! Someone else mentioned chemi-clean. I'm not sure what's in the one I used, but it does say no erythromycin or algicide. Not cure what the active ingredient. I do have air and an HOB in the betta tank and just an air stone in the farm tank.

@@garageaquatics2023 Chemiclean is IIRC the same as the Ultra-Life, just more concentrated. They both use erythromycin cetyl sulfate, and both advertise as not containing algaecides or "erythromycin succinate". I believe the only difference is that the Boyds is more concentrated in the powder form, so Boyds uses .15cc per 10 gallons (.45cc per 30 gallons) and Ultralife uses .625cc per 15 gallons (or 1.25cc per 30 gallons.) Other than that, same-same.

@@MerbeastsFishRoom-s7e interesting. It sucks when you can’t count on the labels. In fact, I guess there’d be some laws broken mislabeling a pesticide/medication. I wonder if there are MSDS available for these somewhere?

@@MerbeastsFishRoom-s7e I just found a 'safety sheet' for Ultra Life and they ain't talkin'! It's all propriatairy!, and their wedside shows no erythromycin or algecide. How do they do it? 🙂

I use chemi-clean which is just a modified form of erithromycin to get rid of cyano. I've seen ultra life for sale, I thought it was basically the same thing but it sounds like it's very different. Interesting that you don't have to remove carbon. I'll be really interested to see what it does! 👍👍
