Good video. I extremely dislike when people try and paint tobirama as a racist. The man lost his brothers to the uchiha and fought them for the majority of his life. It only makes sense that he’d not like them. Even he himself said he was just wary of them and didn’t intentionally exclude them. It all comes down to this; Tobirama loved and protected the village as a whole first. He firmly inherited Hashirama’s will of fire and preached about putting the village above all else. Tobirama’s entire goal was to get people to prioritize the village over their respective clans. He was wary of anyone who couldn’t do that. The Uchiha just so happened to have the most people incapable of doing that. He even says when he is reanimated “The Uchiha just so happened to be a clan positioned as such”. Kagami firmly inherited the will of fire which is why Tobirama trusted him. However he is not the only Uchiha who inherited the will of fire. Many other nameless Uchiha Shinobi believed in Tobirama as well. Remember Madara’s followers that eventually ended up resenting the village didn’t include the ENTIRE Uchiha clan. Only some of them, a lot of Uchiha also stayed and prioritized the village. I don’t believe Tobirama INTENTIONALLY pushed the Uchiha to the margins of the village. I think that was an unfortunate side effect of putting them in charge of the police force. I think he had good intentions when he did that, it just sort of backfired. Anyway, Danzo is NOTHING like Tobirama in any way. Danzo is a monster.

The issue with Tobirama is,he was the Hokage and his role as such is to see all people in his Village as family which he didn't . His fear of a second Madara made Tobirama to move them to the village borders,gave them the police job which removed the Uchihas from having any government power and were put in a bad light.If Tobirama weren't a paranoid guy he would have given the uchihas the 1/3 of the government and made the police with all the clans in the village. He has his bigotries but he’s also a relic of the pre-village era. He watched countless relatives be killed by Uchiha. In Naruto we think the village system is ancient but when Naruto becomes Hokage, the village isn’t even 100 years old yet (if I’m doing my math correctly). Tobirama spent a majority of his life where it was on sight with the Uchiha clan. I think he did his best to honor his brother but he wasn’t going to change that quickly and he died before people like Shisui, Itachi, or Sasuke were born so he didn’t get to see the Uchiha purely in another light.

Plus, he's actually right in the series. Another big difference between the story of Naruto and any real racial comparisons is that the clan was literally cursed to carry on Indara's will, which favors control with power over companionship. This means the Uchiha having a member try to take over the world wasn't only likely, but inevitable. That, and both families are omong of the OG Ninja families directly descended from Kaguya's son, Hagaromo, and his sons, Ashura and Indara. Side note: The Hyuga were descended from her other son Hamura, and Ginkaku and Kinkaku were also somehow direct descendents of Hagaromo. However, their lineage isn't clarified and I couldn't ever find anything speaking on whether or not Hagaromo had children other than Ashura and Indara. The brother's that birthed and passed their cursed rivalry down to the Senju and Uchiha.

Its like how the Fuma clan is a distant relative from the Uchiha, i believe that in the past those Uchiha that never activated their sharingan branch off their Clan or married into another family and stayed allies like the Uzumaki and the Senju, people tend to forget that family last names can be adopted. My guess is that the Kaguya clan were decendants from Indra and here are the logic behind it...look at Indra last name that is otsutsuki after he exile himself from the Hagoromo clan( named after his father) he roam and most likely had kids maybe with different women on his own, one had the sharingan the other had the bone kekkei genkai from the recessive DNA from his grandmother Kaguya and if you look on Indra's face he had painted the markings of his grandmother, those same markings are used by the Kaguya clan and were named most likely by him cause he knew the story of her, they too were cursed by the insaciable thirst of figh like the cursed Uchiha clan. The Fuma clan came way later and by their lack of sharingan they adopted the Shurikenjutsu from the uchiha and even improve it. Remember that Ashura was named the leader of the Hagoromo clan so the Senju branch off too long ago

I wouldn’t say he is racist to the uchiha but I wouldn’t blame him for the way he thinks or acts based on the time period he lived through. Including his suspicions as well. What I think if any clan threatens the village, then they on his list. The uchiha do have issues of their own as well as a clan throughout their own history, especially with their emotions and their sharingan. I wish tobirama did some things different to the uchiha. Tobirama was on edge for his time period as a kid with his brother against the uchiha and other clans and as well the first great shinboi war. As an adult I have come to respect and understand what tobirama did and went through as the hokage after his brother’s death. I wonder what tobirama would think if obito were in tobirama time period instead in the third great shinboi war. I never believed he was racist or that he hated the uchiha clan, just suspicious of them. I mean tobirama can’t always worry about the uchiha since he has other things that isn’t just the uchiha clan. Naruto has taught me lot about the world and the Naruto universe as a 26 year old adult, going through life in general. I do laugh about the tobirama memes from time to time but that’s about it.

I definitely believe Tobirama is misunderstood. He is taking precautions from his past experience, not out of hate or prejudice. He did give the Uchiha opportunities even if he didn't have to and did more to help push the growth of the Leaf than almost all the Hokages. Well senju and Uchiha were continue in war with each other and Tobirama knew about the functioning of Uchiha eyes. Once they experience a pain or a hatred, they unlock their dangerous Eye ability. Shisui and itachi werent like that, that's why he praised them. They only used their eye for Personal reason (like how itachi implanted the hate towards himself into Sasukes brain) or to fight enemies. But the actual problem was caused by black zetsu. Everything was a plan for the infinite tsukuyomi. If the stone had remained the same, the Uchiha wouldn't be obsessed with power, war etc. Tobirama being careful doesnt make him racist. Just like how its understandable that People feared Naruto for the monster Inside of him.

Tbh Tobirama is one of my favorite Hokage and I don’t wanna hate him I just wish he was just a little more considerate and not so logical to his detriment all the time. We’re told that he had his eyes on all the clans so at the very least it would’ve been nice to see him put other clans in check, we know how the Hyuga kept there’s in line and he probably respected them for it but we’re there other konoha clans that didn’t approve? It just feels like from a certain point of view the uchiha we’re the ONLY CLAN who he had trouble with? No other clan felt like the uchiha? That’s what I find hard to believe. If kishimoto ever decides to tell more about the past then I’d like to a incident where a powerful unknown clan of konoha attempted to rebel and he shut them down indiscriminately to show that this is how he truly felt that he gave equal opportunity and equal smoke to anyone and that he was prejudice to one clan. It would make sense if hiruzen and danzo see this first hand and both of them take radical approaches to that event, like danzo take that moment as an excuse to be exterminate anyone who opposes the village rather then understand them and hiruzen may feel tobirama didn’t take enough time so it explains why he dragged things out with the uchiha. A moment like this could help a great deal to me
