As much as I don't think there is a political answer to this problem, I also think political capture is a good thing. We really don't need an all out fight with the powers that be against our greatest hope of survival. So if politicians want to enshrine freedoms around bitcoin, I can only see that as a good thing. If politicians think offending the bitcoin crowd is a political mistake, I can only see that as a good thing.

Term limits. End the political class and replace it with citizen-legislators who know they will have to leave Washington in 2-4 years and make a living under the laws they have passed.
