When I was about a teenager (about 25 years ago) disaster movies were all the rage. The Day After Tomorrow, Twister, Volcano, Dante's Peak, and others. There were like how superhero movies are in modern day. Anyhow, I miss them and hope they make a comeback.

I can remember the day, what showing , and who I was with when I went to see the original Twister movie ! Same gos for Independence Day, saw it on the 4th of July, in a Military town, Hacelock , N.C. , and once we walked out of the theater , the fire works display started, and it was EVERYWHERE ! It was an amazing night and memory for me. I loved the Twoster experience they use ro have at Universl Studios in Florida , man that was like being a part of the freaking movie ! It was so much fun. I'm going to see Twisters this Thursday at a true , IMAX theater. Lee, Look this place up, Marbles IMAX in Raleigh , N.C. Its an amazing experience to watch a movie on this screen. I wasn't the biggest fan of the original Twister. It's been awhile since I watched it but I really enjoyed Twisters, probably more than the first one. Both are just dumb fun movies. Everyone is acting like that first one is the greatest movie ever, lol. Loved all the characters that were on the KZbin team. The movie made you think differently of them, that they were wrong for doing what they did. I especially liked the British reporter. Loved the 3 main characters as well(yes, I think her friend that survived in the beginning is a main character). He had a great storyline too.

Lee, a other reason why Twister a successful natural disaster themed movie is very retro for me is because it’s a 90s movie that got released in the era when the great local movie theater Q-Cinema 9 was open. Q-Cinema 9 did remain active in the 2000s, except unable to compete with AMC, and other movie theaters that have more than 9 theater rooms.

A criminally underrated movie with Glen Powell is Everybody Wants Some!! from 2016. Written and Directed by Richard Linklater. Takes place in 1980 and not an official sequel to Dazed and Confused but it feels like a spiritual sequel. It's a shame the movie bombed and not on the level of Dazed but still really good and Glenn Powell is bit of a Stiffler like character in that movie.

Hey Lee it seems very retro to now think of Twister because it was the era when VHSs were still being sold because DVDs hadn’t been created, Blockbuster and Hollywood video were thriving in the not streaming era, WWF before it had to change to WWE to avoid a lawsuit was competing with WCW, the free encyclopedia era that is Encarta, MTV was focused on promoting Music videos of current Musical Artists and Bands, also mostly anything related to Music.

I saw the original in cinemas when I was 12. It made an impression with the fun acting and effects. I was also living in area that got frequent dust devils, so I liked to imagine bigger tornadoes from them. Now, with this one, I'm not as hyped but will give it a look, hoping for cool effects and decent enough acting. Will just keep my expectations low for everything else.

Guess they were on a date and saw it at the drive-in and during the moment the tornado hit the drive-in in the movie, a Tornado Alarm went off in real life. I'm like the movie and look, I understand people gonna have the first film special place in their hearts, however, for me as a 90s baby & a millennical like myself, I'm vary remember "Twister" when I was young at the time, plus, my mom love that film, also, I'm still remember the VHS tape cover till this day. Another thing is that I'm think the reason why David Corenswet's character Scott in the film is one-dimensional is because of he mostly post to be resemble to Cary Elwes's character from the original film, being this type of jerk think he better people. Plus, also, I didn't mind Tyler's crew as well, because I'm get kick out of Boone though, lol. Also, the reason why Glen Powell and Matthew McConaughey got that southern charming vibe is because both of them are from Texas. 🇨🇱🤠🤘🏾 So, overall, I'm really like and enjoyed the movie, especially the two main leads: Glen & Daisy, so I give it a 7 or 8 out of tornadoes. 🤠🌪🌪😌

I've said this before, but my most favorite aspect of the film is how they handled Tyler and his crew. Your first impression would obviously be this obnoxious and fame hungry adrenaline junkie who has no clue of what he's doing. But then the movie slowly gives you tiny snippets of his actual self behind the camera and that he's actually just as knowledgeable as Kate is when it comes to Tornadoes. And the slow reveal that Storm Par is actually the more 'antagonistic' chaser group (excluding Javi). I can't really compare it to 96's Twisters since I haven't watched it, but I'd definitely say this new remake is definitely one of those fun films you can come back to when you need something to watch and just enjoy.

I just saw it yesterday with my dad. We were bummed out that it was pulled off IMAX after only a week in theaters, so Deadpool and Wolverine could outshine them. Anyway, I found “Twisters” to be a really good time. Daisy Edgar Jones was really cute and Glen Powell was awesome and Badass. He did remind me of Chris Prat in Jurassic World a bit; with a little Matt McConneghy sprinkled in. It was really cool to see a twisters movie for the new age, to give them a taste of what they may have missed in the original. There were certain tradeoffs made here. The quirky characters and their memorable quips, were greatly watered down, but the movie emphasized on the weather dynamics enough not to bore us or send a woke message. There was enough science to where more meterorologists will be nodding yes to the jargon and storm structure. Another thing was that the movie was not afraid to have casualties like the first one. There are quite a few people entering the suck zone and not making it out. I think lastly, we did get a ride-a-long in the movie; Ben the journalist, whom was a fish out of water in the beginning, but rose up and helped people get to safety. Jamie Gertz’s character, Melissa, was entertaining in the beginning of the OG film, but felt like more of a weight as that movie went on. She had to be tended to and protected, and not forgotten about. My only little thing that the movie was missing was a cooler title card, but that was the 90’s and this is now. However, a throwback would have been nice. Perhaps a perspective of or from multiple tornadoes, now that the title is plural. Also the title’s font signifies hurled debris, so why not implement that? Anyway, I would still definitely rewatch this in the theater. It was a really good time!

This is not a sequel there is no one from the first movie in here this movie is terrible it's not over the place and to knowing their music sucks there's no drama that matches the music there's no flow from seeing the scene there's no backstory from the main character in the girl she never answer the question as to why she started chasing and what was her first tornado there was no reason why Helen Hunt could not have played the mom The woman that they had is the mom is completely irrelevant and stupid she's not even blonde they got everything wrong in the movie it's too cheesy too corny they tried to make Oklahoma sound way to country Oklahoman's don't even sound like that It was more of an insult... Besides universal stole my idea I stupidly sent them a message 3 years ago way before filming started and before the script ever got finished about me wanting to make a movie about a guy who has experimental devices that disrupts tornadoes shooting blue balls of light in the sky that implode the tornado.... They took my idea and used fireworks and stupid powder Everyone in the theater was either extremely bored or they were old thinking that the movie was good because they were old.... They should have done a CGI bill Paxton dying from a tornado and then Helen Hunt should have been the mom of the main character talking about how she don't chase tornadoes anymore ever since her husband died but she goes pet talks to the daughter there was no reason whatsoever that Helen Hunt should not have been in the movie she should have been in the movie as the mom It feels like a major insult like the company knew that they were going to insult Oklahoma's they even they even hint that it was going to be Helen Hunt but it was like it was a joke when the woman walked into the room in the dark everyone was expecting hell and Hunt and the way that they had the camera angle of the woman coming in from the dark everyone was going to assume that it was Helen Hunt... There wasn't hardly even any tornadoes in the movie and every time you did see a tornado the camera would not stay on it long enough and it would switch angles and it was annoying and given everyone a headache The concentrated more on the actors and they did the tornadoes and since they've done this on purpose showing you prior to the movie where they could have had a backstory with Helen Hunt and the daughter they literally made a joke...out of it and giving hints of stuff that they deliberately left out from a whole another story... There was literally moments in the movie where are you thought they were going to bring up something about something from the past movie with the characters and then they wouldn't do it at all .. also how big of a coincidence is it My name is Tyler just like the character in the movie and I live in the same town that this thing was filmed and they stole my idea because I sent them a message on Facebook 3 years ago this was just a cash grab they stole my idea and finessed it stupidly

A solid movie indeed. To compare to the original it does not have the same pacing. I did like the story and how they incorporate her love of science. Worth seeing in the theater if you’re on the fence. Also Im so glad they do not mention global warming.

I'm 43 minutes into it and its just not a good movie, I have no interest in finishing it. It shouldn't take this long to get interesting. It isn't just that though, it isn't just uninteresting, it is a bad movie. If it was just boring that would be an improvement. That is why I paused and googled "the Twisters movie sucks". This KZbin video popped up. It is nothing like the first one. Maybe it gets better but so far it sucks, bad. IMO it is bad enough (at least 43 minutes in) that it is - mildly infuriating, for lack of a better term - that the producers tried to piggy back this movie onto the 90s one. I know it isn't a sequel as one is traditionally understood, or a remake but they have no doubt made an effort to connect the two. Its like they wanted familiarity, the nostalgia, with none of the responsibility to the story or the expectations that would come with a sequel. I'm not even going to watch this KZbin video. I have wasted enough time on this bad movie already. I'll give the channel creator here a thumbs up for giving me a place to voice my opinion. I don't usually trash on movies, but this one is exceptionally bad, I felt a duty to warn.
