The fact that they dropped this book series called Springs of Hidden Jade about a guy running into this strange lady who lurks in the forests of Liyue right before drip marketing Lan Yan, whose title is Spring Woven From Jade, who loves to go running around in the woods in Liyue by herself, is making me hope that on our way to meet Lan Yan in the woods, we're going to run into this lady, or that Lan Yan is already friends with her. Other things giving me copium: Lan Yan's Anemo, god of time is very anemo-coded with the Thousand Winds thing, and her title, Springs *Woven* from Jade, and her job as a rattan weaver, when the god of time and the shades in general are often connected to the "threads" of fate and other weaving metaphors. Probably we will not hear or see a single hide or hair of the mysterious lady next patch, but they have been more consistently taking lore they build in books and artifact sets and bringing it to major Archon quests, world quests, or events (eg. Remuria in Fontaine, pretty much everything in Natlan AQ) so I feel like it's more likely than in the past that a book series dropped one patch before would be relevant immediately.

I think the book called "Springs of Hidden Jade" is part 2 from the book " Moonlit Bamboo Forest " that just got animated months ago they reference the same golden eye woman with a silver hair and coat and in both stories she met a boy to tell him a story about the moon sisters and she seems to have the power to see the future which is really interesting

Neither him or Alice are in Mondstadt. Varkas expedition was never heading to Natlan, and the whole time were heading far up north in the exact opposite way. In the northenmost reaches of Teyvat is where they encountered Capitano who soon after received orders to head to Natlan. The expedition did not follow the Captain nor are they anywhere near Natlan. Varka is referring to some other time hes gone to chat with the Pyro Archon.

Considering that modern society does not even know about dragon sovereigns, i wont be surprised if the term "dragon lord" would be used for multiple creatures. Sovereigns were around perhaps approx 6000 years ago, because when zhongli was young, the second war in heavens was waged. If that was Nibelung's doing, then yes they were active, if not then they had already undergone hiding, except perhaps the dragon race of Natlan, because Waxaklahun Uba Kan, Och Kan, etc were still there and in touch with humanity. Azhdaha was sealed somewhere around 2000 ish years ago maybe? Like we know Azhdaha helped morax in the archon war, and was sealed at some point after that, but then again even that is too long ago. Most folks don't exactly know "Azhdaha". There are stories of geo lord battling the dragon and stuff, but once again Azhdaha is not a well known name. So once again, he could be titled dragon lord because why not. And then Haishan is like super recent, Beidou is like what? 30 years old? So haishan is probably the biggest and scariest thing(after osial perhaps) that the Liyue folks have seen, so they might just use the term dragon lord. I mean there is massssive gap between these three entities, heck azhdaha and haishan are closer to each other in time line and yet the gap is around 2000 years ago....

I tend to assume this sort of stuff is just background myth to make the game more colourful. If taken literally the text variously says the woman is (1) an adeptus (2) a Seelie (3) a Shade (4) a Descender (5) a wind / anemo based elemental being. If taken literally then, the text is lying. So I don't take it seriously because it doesn't take itself seriously, but if you had to try and make it so it wasn't self-contradictory but was still supposedly "based on something" then it just sounds like an ordinary adeptus who a bunch of people made up a bunch of nonsense about. The whole story then credited to a famous ancient hero (Guhua) to lend it a veneer of credibility as a legend. Aren't such tales quite common in Liyue?

Wait, where does it indicate she is Shade, Seelie or Descender? I didn't get any of that from that book and I read it multiple times. Like she is called Adepts and Adeptus isn't a race but a title so she needs to be some elemental life form. So being Anemo elemental life makes sense. But nowhere it indicates she is a shade , Angel or Descender.

Plus I think Adeptus more or less is a race although I agree the term is used differently in different places. In another line it says she was a messenger I think? Which the wiki links to Seelie with. Somewhere else it suggests she went to Enkanomiya so that's a shade (as well as the line about her being both mother and daughter). It's all over the place.
