Worth doing.

I had Worcester Bosch which had the key filler system, gushes out when the key is removed and which leaked afterwards. The plate underneath was full of water stains, and I was told that some people leave the key in (not recommended) to try and stop this problem. It's a silly system, and I had it changed for a Bosch keyless loop with the pull-down blue lever. That was slightly better, although the lever was very stiff, but at least there isn't an opening to the outside in the thing.

Yes the key thing is a step backwards a terrible idea.

Sorry to tell you the keyless lever system is worse. Ours was passing leading to high pressure after about 6 years and was replaced with the newer key version. The engineer said the keyless ones regularly fail in this way 😢

@@dereton33I have a Worcester greenstar 30I. External filling loop has been disconnected from the return pipe. When CH is off, pressure is at 1 bar. When the heating is on, pressure junks go to 3/3.5 bar and stays there even though the heating is off and the water is cold in the CH system. Is this an expansion vessel issue? If so, what is causing this and how to rectify? Boiler is 10 years old and has never been serviced.

My boiler is losing pressure when cold, EV was said to be faulty so changed, but it is still losing when cold; the pressure was rising quickly when on about 1.2 bar above base. But not hitting 3 bar. As long as the heating is on it is ok. I had a service and mentioned that needing to top up every 3 months. Since they started investigating it now is every week. Also makes a humbling sound at times, BG engineer didn’t think that was relevant, It is madding, hopefully not a pipework leak, any ideas ?
@dereton3315 күн бұрын
Does sound like you have a leak on the system somewhere.
@kevinharvey621415 күн бұрын
@ bg serviced then it was zero next day, came back said it was ev undercharged then it was a week they changed ev, now two days later dropping again. Would it be the boiler or pipework?

It’s not uncommon for the plate heat exchanger to become pin holed on these boilers which will cause the pressure to rise

Thanks

How do you check the plate heat exchanger is causing the issue? Is that the same as p2p? Update. The heat exchanger plate was pin holed in my case. To test the plate, turn the cold supply going into the boiler, I checked the pressure after an hour and the pressure did not rise. Changed the plate, pressure isn't rising anymore.

Al....can i ask an unrelated question please?....im plumbing 3 small rads under my bay window ( cos cant afford a special bay window rad ) id like to ask how is best to plumb 3 rads, should i connect all 3 together top and bottom as if it were one rad with a flow connection to number 1 rad, and return out of number 3 rad?....or plumb each one separately with flow and return for each small rad?.....ty Al
@dereton33 Жыл бұрын
If you're happy to have all three at the same temperature, then connect them all together top and bottom. If you want to be able to turn down the temperature on separate rads, then plum then in separate with there own valves. Al.

@@dereton33 thankyou, i think i will treat all 3 rads as one, and have one trv ....ty Al

My boiler pressure keep raising when I using heating on , when I dont use all day it stay thw same points 🤔what could be reason for this. So if the pressure will be to high ,the excess waters will go outside the building ?
@dereton339 ай бұрын
It will increase as you you the heating as the water expands when it gets hot, it is quite normal. The pressure has to reach over 3 bar to to blow the PRV and flow outside.

My boiler is working, but I've no hot water. Any tips on how to sort this please.

Depends if you have a combi boiler or a F and E system. Let me know.

@dereton33 Hi, thanks for getting back to me, I have a combi boiler, linea 7. I have put pressure in as it went low. I also reset it, but it will only fire up on the water heater side. Heating works fine, just no hot water. It's as though it's not firing up unless I turn the thermostat up, but still no hot water. I don't know what else to try. Help lol

Why on earth did you fit a Worcester Bosch? Horrible boilers!…. Just ripped one out this morning & the best place for it was in the front lawn!
