Nice teaching, Brian! Thank you! It's nice to see that you have the "old" sanders, the ETS 125 and ET 150. In the various forums, folks are quick to recommend the newer ETS EC models for their ergonomic feel, light weight, and brushless motors. Me, I like these older models, especially for panels. (Maybe the newer ones are nicer for working overhead?)

Thanks George... I love my older ETS150 sander.... love the weight and balance for panel work as well

Back and forth, To and fro. Sanding technique ♾️ I refurbished my parents solid beech kitchen worktops two weeks ago. 60grit and the dust hose came off my 150 Rotex. I didn’t notice until it was too late. 😖 swirly whirly. Had to go back to 40g and start again. 🤣

Thanks for the great tips, another thing I picked up is that the Mirka sanding paper is really good because of its open style paper, allowing dust to be sucked up really easy. I only use the festool paper for the really low grids like 60

Great tips! The mistakes? I made them all 😊.. one more tip I was waiting is how and when to use the different speeds of the sander. Any rules or useful tips on this?
@sedgetool
@sedgetool Жыл бұрын
variable speed is for 2 applications ...Sanding finishes so you don't burn through the finish..slow it down. The other is on painted radius surfaces so you don't burn through the paint.... I guess they are both for finishes. I hope this made sense.

I knew all of this, and still watched the whole thing just nodding in agreement ***new video idea - applying face frames on cabinets and dealing with the small gap on the side between face frame and carcass. And when you make the face frame 1/16 “ larger, best way to get it back down to size.

I noticed how fast you were moving the sander across the surface. Elsewhere, I've heard that it should only move no faster than 1 inch per second in order to get the best finish. Is that a tip worth using? Thank you for all your videos, guys. I learn a lot from you!

I have never really timed myself ... but that sounds like a good speed ... just keep the sander moving

Forgive me Sedge for I have sinned, many times. Still use my blue hockey pucks and drawer liner for sanding. Even messed up by sanding through the top veneer on some plywood the other day 😢. Good news, it was a jig and in a place it did not matter. 🙃 Enjoy
