Thanks for taking the time to provide insights. I've been a fairly long-time owner/user of a DOF P3, primarily used for racing sims, and your video is convincing me to make the move. I just received an email from Igor letting me know about the new gearbox upgrades and your video link was included. I was really concerned about how much disassembly or additional programming may be needed, but you make it sound fairly simple & turnkey - Thanks Again!

Hi Kane, appreciate the video a lot. My set of gearboxes is on the way, hope ordering them provides additional support these guys really need. They produced a great product at a really good price. Beautiful to see how one can appreciate to have a corner equipped like this :) I have a P2, using it for simracing mostly. But I do attach my Hotas mod and enjoy flight sims such as DCS and Flight Simulator, and also space sims such as Star Wars Squadrons. Few questions if you are able to answer please. 1. Is the lash/play still non-existent? 2. I really had a bit of an issue so far with sudden jolting and sometimes s or skipped or broken movement because of too strong telemetry inputs. I believe that sudden movements can be achieved a lot smoother with new gearboxes? And the whole mechanism is more efficient, providing better utilization of motor power, making the whole thing more powerful and laying less stress to the motors? Can you please confirm? Thanks so much for the video, keep enjoying your awesome rig! :)

Great Video, mine are on the way for my H6. If you ever get the chance, look at upgrading to 6DOF... the heave alone is awesome when you land, and if you ever do carrier launches (I know they didn't have those in WW2) the surge is something to experience. Have fun!

Did you get your gearboxes yet? Any thoughts?
@GYGOtv2 жыл бұрын
@@Redmist370Z Yes we got them, we are running a bunch of "before" tests right now so we can actually compare the motion range improvement accurately. We are trying to make sure we get as much of this filmed and recorded because obviously once we do the conversion, we wont easily be able to go back if we miss anything. Believe me it is hard waiting, but we want to do as in depth a video as possible so that is where we are at currently. I'd imagine the video will be live by the end of the month if we don't run into too many problems. Stay tuned!

@@dsdsdsdsdsds3139 LOL isn't that how it always works. We are just waiting on some longer bolts and we will get this thing at least operational enough for the first go at the review. I'm anxious to see how big an improvement it actually is, instead of just "feeling" like it moves more. Stay tuned!

Okay, so it looks like an upgrade for flight, but what about racing? You know racing involved abrupt movements or sudden movements. I would like a review on that particular genre by someone who actually do driving.
@kane42nd582 жыл бұрын
Whilst not a review - this a short clip of them on a driving sim: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaOsipRor71je80 And another below from another user a few weeks back: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5PGoY14eN6Ur9k
@StarBellySneetch2 жыл бұрын
For racing it should be even better. This is about more precise abrupt movement and that's racing on the nose.
@1smiter2 жыл бұрын
Flight sims are really the benchmark for motion. If there's anything odd with movement, that's where your gonna feel it. When driving land tethered vehicles you encounter bumps and jumps that mask the bad parts of movement. I drive mainly and the slack really doesn't bother me there, but wow can you feel it in MSFS. Not to many bumps in the air to mask the movement is why. But i still loved every minute of it. Can not beat these machines for dollar to smile value.

I just got a new P3 about 3 weeks ago and so far I am somewhat disappointed with the jerky movements in MSFS 2020 when banking, it feels like the the motor is moving in steps instead of a smooth motion. I have tried multiple profiles in SRS including the so called professional profiles with no improvement. Do you think this upgrade would get rid of this jerky motion?
@Redmist370Z2 жыл бұрын
I know this is old, but jerky movements are often the results of balance issues not profile issues. Not to say that you can completely remove the jerky motions but you can shift the balance from jerking on pitch up to pitch down (or vise versa) to find what setting has the least.
@NebraskaDownHiller2 жыл бұрын
A lot of the jerky movements are the backlash in the original gear box design which the new screw style gear boxes elongate definitely will be smoother
