I dunno. I'm not a trainer so obviously I could be very wrong, but I feel like the Shepard was jealous of the new baby getting all the mom's attention, rather than being afraid of the baby. Especially since it went out of it's way to destroy the baby's stuff.

I feel like this video isn't really representing the horrors that actually exist on the dogfree subreddit. Those people are unhinged as hell and I've commonly seen them exchanging ideas about how to get rid of people's dogs, including LEGIT service dogs. I've tried to post in there before to help some people understand guidelines about what constitutes as a service dog and what doesn't only to get literal death threats sent back and people telling me they hope my dog gets hit by a car. I used to rely on a service dog for a lot of things in my life due to my disabilities and thought I'd find some commonground with them in terms of the fakes and fake ESA dogs as well, but no. They're just unhinged as hell.

I have to crate my dog at night. This is the first day of it... she used to sleep on my bed, but we BOTH can't sleep when she is on there. She's not crate trained. And I hear her whimpers for me to get her out, and it breaks my heart. But we don't sleep when she is on my bed. What should I do? Edit # 1: I didn't get past 10 p.m. I went to bed at 7:30 p.m. she makes soooo much noise. But I am putting my foot down. Just for tonight to see how it goes. Edit # 2: she had to potty. She is asleep.

Can you try a pen instead of crate, ideally in the same room you sleep in? Check Amazon for "dog pen" they are quite reasonable priced and will give your dog a little more freedom.

@@Brightdog I am actually letting her sleep on my bed again. We set some ground rules. We both slept great. But I will be getting a pen for when I get a job.

I built a small bed by my bed where it was the same height so he was sleeping with me but not with me. Every time my pup would try to get on the bed I put him back in his. Took 3 days. I don’t believe in crating.

@TruckieLooks4Aliens how did you build it? I have a beagle. Her foster mom let her get on her bed, so it's hard to ween her off the habit.

I crate my dogs at night. The oldest because she is incontinent, the second eldest, because he gets into stuff and ends up with GI issues, and the youngest because he still in that puppy "put everything in my mouth" phase.

Have you ever considered to try a pen instead? Still the same confinement just a bit more room for the dog to get up and strech, move around, more comfortable for them, pretty cheap on Amazon.

@@Brightdog They have a pen, but it only fits in the basement, with crates at night they can be closer to the family. If we're not home for a few hours, they're in the pen though.

My dog is very well behaved and socialized, people are usually very surprised at how sweet, loving and confident he is. No pull on the leash, very gentle and sweet. Never been in a crate, never rip or tear any of his toys or anything really...actually he has been taking his toys away from me when I start playing to ruff with them, lol. Quick response to commands. No separation anxiety or aggression. Why? He's not my first dog...he's my last dog and I wanted to make all the other crazy dogs I had up in heaven proud of me. Let them know it wasn't their faults. It was my faults. I was stupid and ignorant on what a healthy bond/relationship is with your dog. Even before he was one, I had a list of things he had to learn and we worked on them together. Love with your actions and not your words. Do more for them as they will not be with you for long. My boy is currently 14 now, but dam I would love for my boy to live forever. I have so many things to show him...delicious treats from doggie food trucks...imagine all the places we can go together...he still has to travel to more states...you know...gotta get those state pins for his traveling backpack.

Always the owners fault- not training and socialising properly, not advocating for the dog or placing it in an impossible situation and a complete lack of understanding of dog behaviour and signals. What is needed more than anything is for there to be a test that the dog and owner must pass before they can own the dog. ( no different than taking a test to get a driving license) We do not allow strangers to go near our American Staffordshire despite her being non-aggressive. You can never predict people's stupidity and self-importance ( I have been told by people that there kids have a right to touch our dogs- guess what they don't. Here in Canada dogs are considered property under the law.)

My first dog barked very, very rarely. She was confident, did not react to any harmless sounds. If she barked, I knew it was something going on and I'd better check that out. The only exception happened when I bought our farm. The first year she would in the evening go on the small hill in the pasture and spend some time barking, probably telling all the other dogs, that now we live here and this is her territory.

I once went on r/dogs because I thought maybe we could find common ground over our mutual dislike or poorly trained dogs in public... but no, they told me my house is disgusting because I have dogs and I must be an emotionally immature narcissist who is incapable of human relationships or else I wouldn't have dogs 😅 so I left their sub, never to return. I'm glad you were able to find some common ground without getting insulted, lol. I do have to crate my dog when I'm out of the house, though. She's almost 2 but she's only "house trained" when she's being supervised or she's in her crate. If I leave her uncrated and I leave the house, she's going to pee all over the floor (regardless of how long she's been outside--she prefers to potty in the house but knows not to except when I'm not there... I assume it's some kind of trauma because she's a rescue? no idea but it sucks because I'd love to be able to leave her out unsupervised).

Agreed! Usually dogs with issues falls on the owner most of the time. We have our first pup and we are training him with all sorts of things..It's coming along but getting him to come and stay have been the most difficult. He is 5 months now so hoping that we become more successful! Thanks for the video!

I had a border Collie who hated it when id move. she wouldn't growl, but she'd like grunt at me, kick me with her back feet, etc. if I moved after she grunted and kicked me more than 3 times, shed see herself off the bed, lay on her dog bed, and proceed to sigh as loudly as she could. Every time 😂 Never growled, whined, just grunts, kicks, and sighs, and only ever when id move in bed and she didn't like it. I've never experienced it with any other dog ever.

I’m a very big dog lover. I got out of my friends car and he was like, u will love my pittie. She lost her leg. I got out, the dog ran up and grabbed onto my knee. My knee was dripping blood. He begged me not to say anything but I was like, in no way should ur dog ever be able to run out of the house without a leash or a fence. To bite me unprovoked is not okay.

I'm glad the restaurant banned dogs from the patio. Usually it's disregarding health department, allowing dogs in public buildings, health department not stepping in and not being allowed to question if it's a service animal. There's a loosening of a social norm and sometimes laws are loosened.

That did sound like a protective warning bite but because it was a pit bull that’s probably why they, including the vet, jumped straight to euthanasia and sadly probably spawned another pit bull hater in that owner now thinking pits just snap and attack.

True, and also diabetic service dogs are often carried in a pouch close to the handler's mouth so they can quickly detect any changes in their owners' breath. They aren't allowed in shopping carts or on restaurant seats/tables, though!

ALL valid comments. I love most dogs but not the people that own them. There are soooo many irresponsible dog owners though and this is really the problem. I, personally, don't believe and understand the whole 'pet' thing and believe it usually strokes the ego of the owner and/or shows the neediness of the person that needs psychological support. If the animal is indeed used as a service dog for these and more reasons, great, train it. Fine. Otherwise, stupid and uneducated people (of which there are millions on this earth!) = stupid and uneducated dogs! Is this dangerous and annoying? Most times, yes. Do people that choose not to own a 'pet' have to live in their community with annoying barking, shitty shoes and visit a beach with an out of control, sand and water-splattering beast? Yes. The point is CHOICE. There are so many irresponsible owners that ruin it for the responsible ones that educate themselves. Really, being a non-pet owner, I see it ALL the time!
