@Anne MacLeod period just means a period of time. A dog does bleed/discharge for a period of time in its cycle. Mensturation is something humans do and dogs do not.Altogether different. So technically you can say a dog has a period of time where they bleed even though it form a different part of their firtility cycle. than a human. so you cant say dogs Mensturate they do not. Period is an open definition.

There are pet diapers available in the market in different sizes. You can also use them during your pet's period. With diapers you can even allow them to sit on the bed. Just make sure you remove the diapers while you take them for a walk for pee and poop. Then you can clean their parts with a clean cloth and put the diaper back on.

When my dog had her first period, I searched on youtube I only found very limited videos..and many were confusing.. But now I Found the answers for many of my doubts. Thankyou for the video. I made a special pad from pampers by making a hole for her tail....but as the heat extended for more than 1 week, her fur from the back started falling a lot and she started feeling irritated we gradually stopped using it.

Just deal with my dogs first heat cycle and my first time also. I didn’t know what to do. But if ima be a dad one day I have to deal with things like this. Honestly I think I did a good job I took care of her all day and I bought reusable diapers on amazon and bought pads. Changed her a least 5 times a day. Slept next to here cuz I’m a light sleeper so if she gets up so do I. I took her on walks everyday but not around other dogs. I think she enjoyed that. I’m kinda glad I had quarantine during this time cuz if I was working I would have freaked out!! It wasn’t easy but it’s gotta e done!

😟 I miss my Molly. I had her like almost for 3 years. Anyways,as a dog parent I used to take special care of her on those days. Hygiene is a must. To prevent her from licking the spots on floor I used to mop it then and then. And as on the video, you have said already that by keeping beds separately and all etc. Like women, female dogs also need some extra care and love on those days. That's it.
