Dog's APM game is another level, even among streamers he's crazy fast. And he's playing at that speed while reading chat, thinking strategically about other units he needs, and minmaxing his choices. The more of his APM games you watch, the more impressive it is. He's quite literally faster than the game engine.

500 years ago is long enough that modern mathematical notation would be innovative. Also, you would be arriving in the early days of imaginary numbers which are a fairly simple idea that could be used to impress people.

I think imaginary numbers would be a poor choice: as the name "imaginary number" suggests, the idea was known before it was respected, so it would probably get you dismissed as a mathematical snake oil salesman. To make it work you'd have to prove the applications of imaginary numbers, at which point it's going to be the application and not the imaginary numbers that make people pay attention.

@Alex Holker weren't they invented to solve some edge cases in calculating area or volume? I'm pretty sure it was a problem people had been struggling with since antiquity. Seems like a practical enough application. You would arrive early enough to rename them "transient numbers" which more accurately describes how they were used in the early days.
