The most annoying thing about this review is that I had to wait 2 long months from your last video!🤪 For people not in the know, most reviewers use scripts, not here. I can't stress to people how this man knows his shit when it comes to sound analization. That's one of the reasons why it takes 2 months. That and he's a hard working guy and does this in his very infrequent spare time. Because of the Home Theater bypass on the Mark 3, I might have to actually buy this thing!🤔🙄🤫 If I have have to wait this long again, I just might have to drive up to Kentucky to film you myself.🤗😉😇 You show me one reviewer who starts to tear up talking about a product that they actually bought regarding the sound quality. 🧐 I'm waiting.🤓

I realize this comment is way in the future but man, this was one mother of an excellent review. When you mentioned you could hear the body of the violin as well as the strings - you really got my attention. My first amp build back in the late 60s was a Dynaco with a pair of Phillips KT88s. In order to get these tubes to perform at the level you describe here takes some real fancy well thought out electronic design. I hope you read this because as long as this review was - I enjoyed every second of it. Well done indeed.

@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 hi TJ. I had a Yamaha AS 2200 for about 6 months and it just could not power Polk LsiM707s adequately. Although it did have a nice overall sound to it(high frequency had nice airy feel to it), i ended up selling it. My upgraded Sansui integrated AU-D11ii blew it out of the water. The Sansui is not stock unit since I upgraded the opamp and capacitors along with many other internal upgrades. So it’s sound is entirely different. More in the way of modern ‘hifi’. Doge seems legit!!!! You are tempting me.

@@RoselynNY Yes the Yammy is very Airy and gives the polks some much needed sparkle love ! And i think you know my #1 vintage amp is my 56 pound Sansui G8000 thats the 2nd biggest monster reciever ever made by Sansui and dam that amp is powerful ! Geez it has this sweet but warm richness to it thats addictive ! Its rated at 120 watts but it will destroy any of my higher powered amps hands down ! Sansui was ahead of its time and Mr.Kikuchi believed high end electronics made for hi end sound thats?why he started his own company and Doge believes the same way Honestly their not making much off of these amps. I bought my mk2 and serously thinking about buying the mk3 actually the Mk3 is suppose to have even more emotional sound if so i will cry for sure 😆 keep rocking bro !!

Great review TJ!!! I watched the entire thing. I have owned the Doge 10 for about a year now and I have to give you big kudos on this review because it's basically almost exactly my experience with the sound profile as well. I absolutely love this amp! I did want to ask you....I have been using the KT88s that came with the unit for the past year but have been itching to go tube rolling and try those KT120s. From the sound of your review it sounds like you believe it's worth the upgrade? I know from a little research online the 120s allow for more current so I can assume that results in a little deeper control and slam on the bass? Can you give me a few areas that you believe the 120s improved your listening experience over the 88s? Thanks man!

Hey Congrats ob the MK2 If i would of had more time I would of talked more about Tube Rolling . The Stock P.S.vane are pretty dam good honestly, Doge done us a solid one on that one, But Doge/Marc knows tubes of course . The PSvane is the least agreessive power tube I have. But yeah the Kt120 you will get a lil bit more heft to the sound not louder but more body bass is a lil stronger also and Dynamics are addicting And the top end of the Kt120 isn't as agressive like the Golden lions but some people like that it really depends on your speakers and the sound you want to get out of them . But your on the money about them Thanks for stopping in

Honestly, Doge company never provide after sales service, whatever anything happened within one year purchase period, there’s no warranty or local support to be provided in USA. Customer service will only ask customers to repair the amp by themselves. Marc is only responsible to close sales, and never provide any after sales service. He is even claiming been hospitalized when you’re looking for help after sales. Spending your hard earned money with Doge, you’re risk taking actually. Good luck

I used a 1/4 inch drill bit to cut threw dead center so the feet on the doge sets snug maybe 2 dollars worth of soft rubber squares but lefts the amp up to get more circulation of air and of course it helps for vibrations or it didnt add any noise 😆 Iso-accoustics makes some nice looking ones i wouldn't mind trying those

Honestly that was i quick comparraion not a full comparrsion to my Yamaha , I mean the Yamaha IMHO beat out alot of amps i have owned even the audiolab 8300xp power amp and 6000a preamp . One thing I should have mentioned was if you love the Yammy you will fall in love with the Doge their very similar Voiced but the Doge overall tonality is a level above but the Doge sold for $6400US under a different Name, i am seriously thinking about having just a comparrsion video of Doge vs Yammy ! The Doge has been the 1st amp under $2500.00US to get me emotional And being a huge Yamaha Fan that was tuff for me to except But yeah i need a real comparraion video !! Hey TeeJay Outstanding Review I came very close to buying the Doge 10 after watching Thomas and Stereo video review, but I thought the Doge was built with cheap Chinese parts due to its price point. I had no idea that the Doge was built with this Hi level of parts. Thomas also said the imaging/Vocals are very good with the Doge. Hey Brandon Appricate your support ! I haven't tried the Polk audio Reference R700 but Zero fidelity likes those a lot I would love to try them out ! All i can say is my Lsim 703s have the best Synergy with the Doge out of my Dozen set of speakers . The polk lsim have that Robust full sound thats not aggressive , I will say the lsim doesn't have the most refined treble or dynamics , but the Doge having dual class mode and feedback mode this helped out a lot to taylor the sound to what I like , espically Once i put the Doge in pure class A mode and feedback on low and i used the Kt120 power tubes this setup blew me away ! Class A mode is so clean sounding this helped to keep the polks from sounding to bloated in the Low-end (boomie) also the low feedback gave the Polks more sparkle and better detail retrieval and the Kt120 powertubes brought much better Dynamics to the lsim !! Hope this helped ! Thanks for stopping in Brandon

Hey Vern, I have a question I don't know if anyone can answer. I heard from Doge that the Sub out is full range... so it acts as a line out... if I ran the sub out output into a MiniDSP, then split the output into my bass amplifier and subs through 2/4 of the minidsp output, and ran the other L and R output back into the pre-in on the Doge, would that work? ... I would then be able to use my 2 way speakers with the Minidsp as crossover, and using both the pre and power stage of the DOGE. Or would this create a wormhole and kill us all?

Dear Tee-Jay. I like and recpect your reviews, even you are not one of the prominent hi-fi reviewers. So keep on with this channel. You put a juice in a story and passion with your experiences. I would have two questions: 1. how would you describe sinergy between this Doge amp and Elacs you have had - its strong and weak points of sinergy? I like Elacs and I like to listen to different jazz music, singers like Aretha Franklin, great tenor maestro Pavarotti and such... so that is why I am interested for and I am from Slovenija, a small country in Europe, EU. 2. Hi Tee-Jay. I bought the MK2 a few years ago after watching your video and some others. You had a video up describing how to do a system reset but I’’m not seeing it anymore. Is it still up somewhere and I’m just not seeing it? If so would you mind pointing me in the right direction with a link? I love the way this amp sounds but it has had some issues starting within the first year and Mark and the company had all kinds of issues and I could never get any customer service that was of any use. So I’m sorry to bother you but I’m a bit stranded. I put away the amp for about a year but now am interested in getting it working again. Basically the issue is it spontaneously switches back to standby mode and won’t stay on. It’s not in a setting where it could possibly be overhearing so I don’t know what the heck is going on. So I thought I’d try your reset method but need help finding it. Also, I’ve been looking for your store online but am having trouble finding it, too. If you have a website please hip me to that, too. Those watkins double voice coil speakers love a lot of power , The Mk2 i reviewed in this video has been replaced with a even more powerful mk3 model (63pounds) 40 watts of class A And 70 watts class AB . Many people use the mk2 model to drive their Magnapans with no problems . But i never tried driving infiniti from the the late 90s you may want to ask 'Thomas and Stereo' , The new Mk3 has preouts and you might have to biamp those speakers not sure Thomas review is in my description if you want to ask him but my mk2 drives my 14 sets of speakers easily

how much was the kt120 tube from upscale audio. might be worth trying a ecc83 or better ecc82/12a7a, preamp tube balanced triodes. always balance triode. I'll give you a company in the UK the tubes are balanced and tested in working conditions, not here tho! I will delete that after short while! got some nice mullard ecc82 at £115 I'm just reading up I think I very good tube would be to try the general electric ecc83 /5751, says it gives it an sharper image and detail, with smooth top end a favourite of Conrad Johnson in there amps £50, military grade

@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 extended my comment better place to buy tubes and cheaper. I don't think a Sherman tank is the best example called on the tin cans because the tops blow off best place in a Sherman tank is underneath it. best tank in the world is the Brazilian tank you wouldn't have guessed that.

Good luck

@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Thanks for your asking. My amp has been totally died for some time. I have tried to get assistance from Doge but with nothing helpful from them. Anyway I’ll get this amp to be fix in local hifi repair shop without any help offer from Doge. I’m just trying to share my worst shopping experience to other. Thanks

You are the best KZbinr among others and you do show your care for all music lovers that you're not even know. I have shared my worst experience with Doge to 4 KZbinr, you are the one who provide most valuable of information compared to others, there is one name Tho... (you should know who I try to mentioned here) who never care to reply me at all. To be honest, Tho... just a salesman, you are the best KZbinr with precious reviews all the time. I am truly appreciate your channel always provide unique and insight of thinking for stereo industry. Cheers!
