Your ability to talk about the taste and smell of the beer is very impressive. I struggle with the smell when it comes to modern hazy IPA’s. Obviously I smell other elements, but citrus peel or zest is always at play. And often times, that seems redundant when I talk about it. When I taste it, I’m good. I can't recommend more than tasting more beer, writing your tasting notes, and comparing it with tasters you trust. (BeerAdvocate, Untappd, KZbin, BJCP, etc.)
