Curtis “Booger” Armstrong actually did play a Batman villain in disguise. He played The Joker in the OnStar commercials.

When it came out my then-gf was ticked off because it shows Frank Gorshin as the big bad, but (according to her) Gorshin didn't play the Riddler in the Riddler's final appearance on the show, John Astin did. That was before the internet was big and we could double-check her, so I took her word for it. For the record, Gorshin played the Riddler in the final appearance of the character.
@kevin10001Ай бұрын
That isn’t correct Frank gorshin did play the riddler in his final appearance ring around the riddler in season 3 it was a one episode plot cause season 3 had a few plots that were only one episode John Aston was the riddler in season two’s Batman’s anniversary plot cause Frank was having a contract dispute with the series at the time according to Adam’s book

The Batman '66 comics were really great and had many different crossovers. They had another crossover with the Green Hornet, written by Kevin Smith, one with other DC characters like the Legion of Superheroes and the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman series who also had her own TV comic, a legally mandated Archie comics crossover and also had crossovers with TV contemporaries like Man from U.N.C.L.E. and The Avengers. (Under a different name). They also adapted the Harlan Ellison Two-Face script.
@kevin10001Ай бұрын
The show itself had a green hornet crossover cause it was done by the same people and the Batman plot was actually meant for to be a ratings booster cause it wasn’t doing as was as Batman was but the plan didn’t work and the green hornet ended up being a forgotten one season relics of the 60’s cause it’s mostly known today through the Batman plot
@jonathaneilbeck2263Ай бұрын
@@kevin10001 Green Hornet was also one of Bruce Lee's early roles. In Lee's native Hong Kong it was renamed the Kato Show.

@@jonathaneilbeck2263 awesome even though I haven’t really gotten to experience the green hornet outside of Batman due to it not getting the multiple syndication runs like Batman has over the years possibly due to it only lasting one season

My understanding of the rights as of 2024 is that Disney own the rights to the Batman character on TV. They don't own the rights to the actual character. But it means that WB can't have Batman appear in his own show. Movie rights aren't affected, which is probably why WB/DC allowed them to use clips in return to the Batcave. Of course Disney now also owns Twentieth Century Fox. This is the live action rights I'm referring to

I think the host is too young to realise how this show worked - it may be that he didn't see it first when he was little. I was six years old when it came out, and the show wasn't a comedy at all - it looked a bit silly sometimes, but it was a serious and exciting show. It was only when I grew up that it turned into a comedy, and that's the beauty of it - it worked on two levels; one that children could enjoy, and another one entirely for their parents. I just happened upon the dvd of this when it came out when I was looking through the racks in a store, bought it, and it lived up to what I hoped it would be. I loved it.
@doggansАй бұрын
I did indeed see the show when I was little, and I agree that the true brilliance of the series is that the same elements that are exciting to kids are hilarious to adults. I discuss that very thing in the "Comedic Batmen" video I mention at the end of this one. That's exactly why as much as I enjoy this movie, the tone of the reunion portions of this movie is frustrating to me. The jokes here AREN'T the type that would feel serious to children. It's a different style of humor than Batman 66, and if I'm watching a Batman 66 special, I would prefer the same kind of laughs.

The movie was great in its own right in my opinion but at this point I probably know more about the series and movie then the average person does and most people wouldn’t know that the reunion movie was the only time Adam had been to the Bronson canyon cave used as the cave entrance to the batcave in the series and movie when we see the Batmobile leaving the actual cave not the inside of the cave it was his stunt double hubie kerns driving the Batmobile in that shot and Adam had struggled with the series for years cause for a while after the series Adam had a dislike for it due to being typecasted by it but by the 80’s he had come back around to embracing the show again with the notion that he ultimately could be someone’s introduction to the world of Batman and that gave him a new found respect for the show cause I was one of those people my love for Batman stared at 5 year old during the hype for the 89 movie through Adam and Burt and my love for Batman grew into a general love for Batman but it all started with Adam and Burt and they hold a special place in my heart for that
