I consider myself blessed to have a dogo literally land in my lap. A neighbor's son gave her one and she couldn't keep it and knew how fond i was of him. She texted me at 9pm and asked me if i wanted him. I ran over there and grabbed him without hesitation and sped to Petco to load up. Named him Archie and he's 6 months now at 60 pounds. He's gonna be a big boy ❤

You are right. I will respectfully share that I just got myself a dogo about a year ago. Zeke convinced me with his videos on the breed. I have a small house and property but he and I are always out walking and jogging and exploring. Has been great. I also lost 30 pounds. He is everything Zeke says. Loyal, gentle with our kids and a power house of lean muscle. He is very imposing but we socialized him very very well so is good with people and other dogs. He loves being at festivals and in public period. He is very protective of our home and his bark is like a lions roar - it is amazing. Good luck to you.

I have a Dogo and they are actually one of the healthiest Mastiffs out there. My Dogo is chill; a breed cannot be described as a whole for each dog is different. The key is proper socialization, you have to keep these dogs around people so that they don't become withdrawed and fearful. I don't know why all these documentaries try and make the breed look dangerous or a chore to own.

Thank you for this video Zek. This is very helpful and I am actually purchasing a dogo Argentino this year. I’ve done so much research and your information by far helped solidify what is best for me. There is a few questions hopefully you can answer: do you feel having the dogo go to a professional obedience school is the way to go? Having proper control of an Alpha dog is must who will protect the family and still be gentle in the end. Do you of any possibly in the Georgia area? If you have any other information regarding the dogo Argentino, definitely place it. I grown to love this breed without having him yet, lol. September is the born date and November is the drop off or pick up.

Most of the breeds you have listed that went into creating this breed is correct except for one. The Great Pyrenees was not actually the breed used. While the translation from Spanish to English was slightly off it was actually the Pyrenean Mastiff. These are working dogs. They NEED to have a job and I think you you did a good job saying that. They excel at what they are bred to do. Hunt. The amount of training needed to keep these dogs as purely house pets can not be over looked. Yes, you will get back what you put into them. Maybe more. But having 3 Dogo Argentino's myself, I do not suggest just getting one and expect it to be alright just sitting in your house. I am not saying its not doable. People are now breeding these dogs with less pray drive and creating less stable, low energy dogs. You don't want one. We are already seeing the outcome of breeding non working dogs.

@@mercedesbenzs600bash you're welcome. If you're new to the breed and if you don't have experience with big dogs with strong personality, I wouldn't advise this breed. But if you want one, take a female. They are quite smaller in comparison, but they are easy softer and more patient with children. If you forget something home, don't ask a friend to go and get it, the dog will probably see him or her as an intruder. Even if that person comes regularly.
@antonchigur42994 жыл бұрын

If they weren't banned here they would be really popular, very versatile dog can be used for hunting, guarding, good with families, not bad tempered dogs, intelligent and they're not too big either. Sadly the government here has never allowed them because of their prey drive and they expect they would be chasing everything.

Delilah-starr Dagoulehi I personally dont have one but in my search for a breed for me I found some people near me that had some and have interacted with them. This breed will definitely test you, daily. They are no joke when that prey drive gets going too lol. If you have time to train and are a good pack leader with your corso then a dogo shouldn't be too hard. Remember to get opposite sex of what you already have. Same sex aggression is common in dominant breeds. Be prepared for the WWE wrestling that will go on in your house though lol

These are working dogs. Ears are cropped to insure they do not get ripped off by boar and Puma. It's far more humain to do it while they are young in a controlled environment than in the middle of the woods hours from the closest vet. I have 3 Dogos cropped and they act like nothing happened the next day.
@eastcoastemt93926 жыл бұрын
It's the breed standard, but they accept soft/natural ears in show now. If you don't actively hunt your dog, I don't see a reason to do it unless they have a medical necessity such as repetitive ear infections. IMHO, I think cropping ears & tails just for aesthetics is cruel and uncalled for.
