Dogs and Cats' Reactions at the Sight of a Fake Husky

We got our fourth husky! My three husky dogs and two cats walk into the room to meet the new husky. But how quickly will each of my cute pets realise it's a fake husky? Each of my dogs' reactions are so funny. Each of the three huskies reacts differently to this cute prank. Husky Yuki is waiting for a treat, and huskies Monty and Olive are as cute as ever. And the cats are behaving like all wise cats.

I’ve had a gorgeous German Shepherd statue for many years but it was broken. About toy-dog size, best most realistic representation I’ve seen of GS in my life. Finally fixed and brought it out again on our steps. But this time we had our cat, who was completely floored by it. Very wary for a good while that day, cautiously approaching etc. finally he settled. No problem anymore.

So, my brother has two dogs named Edgar and Loki. For fun, I put a Buzz Lightyear action figure in the hallway to see what they would do. Edgar just sniffed Buzz and walked away. Loki, on the other hand, thought he had a new friend. Loki barked at Buzz, tried playing with him, and even fell asleep by Buzz. It was hilarious!

My wife and I feed some feral/stray cats in our neighborhood. They will occasionally attempt to get into the house, and, on one occasion, Gunter, a sweet, ginger tabby tom, slinked past us and made a run down the hall to our bedroom. Upon arrival there, he immediately turned tail and ran out the way he came. It only took us a moment to realize why: The life-sized plush cheetah sitting next to the bed. =^[.]^=

Monty checks out all the right areas to say HI! Monty sure loves a belly rub. I haven't been able to get my male to lay in my arms while getting a belly rubs, but he does love belly rubs on his back. Yuki says dad is weird playing with fake dog. Olive wonders why dad wants to play with a plastic dog when she is right there. Can't fool the cats either. Very funny.

Years ago, our 3 month old malamute dragged us in through the open door of a store in Banff to say hello to an almost life sized husky stuffie. It was quite a bit bigger than he was at the time. We apologized to the staff, but they loved his reaction and asked if they could give him a treat.

My mom has a “life size” doll of a toddler she’s had since she was a kid. Anytime I pull it out of the closet the dogs start howling at me. They’d never be this calm around a dog shaped inflatable.
