As a male dog he wants to be leader of the pack, and is possessive over the female who he sees as his alone. I have never had to deal with that particular behaviour. I think I would suggest the man take charge by putting the dog out of the room for a few minutes each time he threatens aggression, putting him on the lead to take him out of the room if necessary then having him sit and taking it off. Then closing the room door on him for ten or fifteen minutes each time. Fuss and praise from the man when he isn't aggressive. Tbh, I wouldn't seek to appease a dog threatening aggression in my own home. They are pack animals and if they aren't to rule the roost then they have to be ruled albeit not with cruelty. It is a matter of giving off an air of "I'M in charge of you. You do as I say". Mind, it must be started from the first time the dog tries it. Wait too long and they obviously don't want to give up their power. You have to have the stronger sense of presence and ownership of the space and home.

Absolute rubbish! The domestic male dog is a social animal not a frustrated pack leader. His aggression is fear-based, which is usually the case. The poor thing is obviously confused by the weird sounds of the intercom too, just like my dog would be, which doesn't help. The man standing over him threateningly is making things even worse. He needs quiet, kind, slow gentle, persuasion with lots of rewards.

@@mikehall1929 All dogs came from wolves and they will always have the leader and pack instinct to one degree or another. Of course what you say is accurate also but doesn't negate the facts.
