You can feel the energy overwhelming that dog from the moment he makes the first noise. He needs to be able to run till he's tired.

Who would have thought a high energy German Shepherd would need exercise to keep him calm and entertained. Really tired of people getting these types of dogs and not giving them the very basics.

I've ought a DOG CHASER, I don't use it to frighten off other dogs. It works indoors/garden to stop my little Terrier from excessive barking. All it takes is just a very quick tap on the button. Dogs do not like the noise it makes humans can't hear it. I have a lady chiropodist come to my house every 6 weeks, he doesn't, I've her as he has a very protective attitude towards me. Her last two visits have been blessed with peace. Now I only occassionaly have to show the Dog Chaser if he doesn't respond to a spoken sharp Whisky NO.

My German Shepherd only wanted these exercises: sleep on the carpet, 5 minutes in the garden to check the temperature, sleep again, eat, sleep on the couch when unsupervised, eat. For 14 years. The "muh dog need exercise" fable is just projections by people who can't live at peace with themselves. The kind that goes to the gym to feel alive.

Always has a soft spot for German shepherd dogs, they are highly trainable. So happy to see Marvel get the supports he deserves. ❤

she loved him so much ..but not realising she was enabling the silly behaviour .. hoping they carried on the agility etc and lots of socialisation. I think dog `ownership` should be licenced and the humans given basic training..

Intelligent working dogs constantly need a lot of physical and mental STIMULATION. I don't think Marvel was getting much of either, causing frustration and stress. Does he even have any toys in the house that can keep him mentally occupied? I don't think so.

Total lack of exercise from puppy hood till now. Not enough mental stimulation as well for such an intelligent, active breed. It’s not rocket science.

I actually gave my barking German Shepherd a bark command. When she barked i SAID "fIght! in a very sharp, harsh, excited voice. She was told "good girl",Then I produced a treat at which she stopped barking to sniff. Then a calm "quiet" command while she was quiet and she got the treat and calm praise. Repeat. Didn't take half as long as just waiting for the barking to stop. They are very clever. I used the doorbell to incite the barking when needed, gave the excited "fight" command then the treat out to sniff . She could not bark and sniff so there was quiet, give the calm "quiet command and reward. Ended up with her being quiet when told to be to be, used in the house and actually anywhere, and a bark like crazy on the "fight" command when I needed her to look scary. Using the word "fight" was in itself intimidating. Lots of people use the word "speak", but using "fight" was much more effective with intimidating people. I am a dog behaviourist.

Just a point to think on.. I am wondering if Marvel was hip scored for hip dysplasia before taking him to agility. Be a good idea to do that as agility is to be avoided if the hips are not good.

How does a vaccinated puppy get parvo? By not being fully vaccinated I assume! If you have a puppy why don't you train it and exercise it properly? I despair of folks. Thank goodness help is on hand.

Vaccinated dogs can still get parvo you know, it's just less likely

They can still get it when vaccinated, and he also may have been from a puppy mill or some place awful

I'm sorry but this is not acceptable. I have severe chronic abdominal pain and am housebound, part bed-bound, and the pain keeps me up all night so I sleep during the day (plus the pain wakes me multiple times during my sleep, which only makes the pain worse the next day). If my neighbour had a dog that perpetually barked, I would not be able to live, period. Every random loud noise makes me tense up, like a dagger being stabbed into my abdomen. This girl has received multiple complains, goodness knows what kinds of anxiety/depression/insomnia/heath issues her neighbours have, she hasn't changed her living arrangements due to her dad and her families health issues (inc. mental health, they all look depressed and exhausted). It's just not on, you can't do this to people. It's cruel. They also have a lit candle on a windowsill, in-front of a sheer curtain where the dog is jumping up, 4:34. This is madness.
