Doing MY Own Hair On My Wedding Day | Bridal Hairstyle | High Bun On Natural Hair | Asia Char

My wedding hairstyle with no extensions / weave added.
I was super busy leading up to this day. My husband & I closed on our first house just the week before, still working full time, and preparing for the wedding. I didn’t have much time to think about my hair.
I didn’t know how I was going to wear my hair until I started getting ready for my wedding!
Before, I did say that I wasn’t going to use heat but this was the day before the wedding and a twistout was too risky at this point. I just knew I needed some type of texture/curls.
Thank God it turned out gorgeous! I absolutely loved it!
Tips:
DO NOT use a lot of gel. Your hair will revert. Use the smallest amount.
Let your hair set in the rollers for a few days if you can. They’ll last longer.
Bobby pin the donut bun in place before you start pinning your hair around it. (My donut was in the size XL)
Have a TON of hair pins!
Bantu your hair in 6-8 knots to preserve the style when necessary.
*Flatiron temp was set to 320 degrees (Duvolle Flatiron)

Thank you! I’m not a cosmetologist so I don’t want to give you false information. I would stay around 360 degrees for my hair with one pass. I would start with a low temperature and keep raising it about 10 degrees until you find a good temperature for you. Multiple passes with the flatiron changes everything though. So keep that in mind.

If I do this style again, I’ll show that. The curls held up nicely on their own the first week. I just pineapple’d it with a satin scrunchie at night & shook my hair out in the morning. After that, I put my in about 8 Bantu knots to preserve the curls & would wear my hair in cute textured ponytails & buns. Never picking up a comb.
