My mother is a painter. She plans for 3-4 months ahead. She will work overtime if there's ever any overlap, but she always makes sure to provide ample time to complete a project. She does not overschedule, even if a potential client is upset because she won't come. paint their house next week. Bad painters, bad contractors, they overschedule because don't want to lose that money. Good contractors will tell you when work can be done and start when they promise. A good contractor will not purposely overschedule.
