Your design is so smooth, what stabilizer do you use and how do you think you avoid it puckering? That is my biggest problem.

I use a medium cut away and as I said on the video I always use ether the wonderunder or the heat n bond lite on my applique fabric. That makes a big difference,

How do you know which needle to hold down to do your trace?

It would be the one over the hole. look and see what one is in the sewing position and that would be the one to pull down.

I think you have to have software that converts the file to a stitch file.
