I was going through an air port to check my bag in and a sniffer dog came up to me. The security guard ask me if I was carrying anything that I should not be. After I quick think I said no, I was then taken over to a table and ask to put my bags on it and step away I did so. They search my carry on bag first, because this was the one the dog was indicating at. When they opened it the first thing they saw was my lunch. Which was a foot long Subway with lots of spicy meet, sources and other stuff. Turns out the dog was hungry and just wanted a snack.

Andres Ledezma In Texas you would get arrested pronto. I accidentally carried a small, under 4 inch dull pocket knife in my carry on , the metal detector found it. Since it was so small, dull, and I was obviously shocked it was there (I was honest, about to cry) I did not get arrested. I just had to take all my carry on luggage back out the airport so I could put the knife back in my car trunk...the go thru the TSA again. I was super early for my flight, so it was ok. I thanked the TSA too. It made them smile.

Wow, things are much different down here in Australia. Never had any issue with carrying a bottle of coke or a coffee onto a plane. My local airport even has a list of places where you can get the best shot of a plane, and even recommends bringing a ladder so you can shoot over the fence.

I remember when I was 14 and I was at the Austin Texas airport and the security guy was looking at me, mom, and dad. He looked at me and asked to make sure I didn’t have an ID since I was 14 and my dad (who like to cracked jokes, but just made the wrong joke at the wrong time) said “oh cmon can’t you tell he’s a terrorist!” I immediately turned around said “dad oh my God why.” The security guard was NOT thrilled, he looked my dad dead in the face and said “sir we don’t take that as a joke here.” Luckily we didn’t get questioned or anything but yeah be careful what you say at an airport.

I've brought an NES Zapper onto a plane, similar to the second scenario. The most that they did was check my bags to make sure it wasn't real. They let me go in a couple minutes and that was the end of it. they didn't confiscate it.

One time flying London to Dublin, for some reason I thought having my iPad wallpaper at the time was funny, to be of Gerry Adams, a speculated past IRA member. The security guys accidentally opened the iPad cover and the screen turned on, to show the wallpaper. Out of all the cities for this to happen, I couldn't have had worse luck, given the beef with the British and the IRA, but I think the security guys just found it funny 😂

I used to fly a lot, for about 5 years i'd fly from the U.S. to Singapore and back about twice a year (once three times in a year) so i've been on a lot of planes and in airports a lot. Got kinda used to it but I was really afraid of missing flights the first couple of times till I got it down. My parents got detained at an airport for joking about smuggling drugs. They were stopped for a random check, and they asked them about some prescription drugs they might have in their baggage that are often abused. One of the drugs the officers mentioned was a drug that isn’t usually smuggled and is perfectly legal, and my mother joked about how they “forgot to pack” that drug. They were detained and their bags were searched. The officers found nothing except an empty film cartridge with something rattling inside. The officers thought it was a marijuana seed or something. It was a pebble.

best one i hear of was a friend that got arrested for a replacement leg as they though till he was carrying some sort of weapon until scanned after being arrested for 5 hours and him telling them he had a old replacement leg
