I totally agree about the USAC crashes not being ok, especially Zach's. Came way too close to the crowd. Why does USAC have such a long break in March?
@JamesDedmon11 ай бұрын
Well I can see it the concern, what I don’t get is the washing part. If you’re using something in the cleaning process that acts as a tire treatment it should show up in the tire sample. The only benefit I see from washing is maybe the dirt removing oils from the tires keeping them fresher. Now heating them I understand however with the transports most teams use keeping them in the hauler will warm the tires a bit, on a cold night warm tires will fire better
@Thumper6811 ай бұрын
The turns are where the fencing is needed most. It’s obvious that’s where you’re sideways and have biggest chance of starting a violent roll going off track.
@DIRTRACKR11 ай бұрын
As we've seen over and over at race tracks all around the world, even those places you don't think a car would ever get to, somehow they always do eventually.
@Thumper6811 ай бұрын
@@DIRTRACKR this is true but we’re talking about oval tracks and that fencing is cheap especially compared to the cost of what could result not having it. At least for tracks that are big enough to host these large series’s it shouldn’t be a big deal to spend the money to have it done. I understand it’s not financially feasible for smaller tracks obviously.

I was at a sprint car race many years ago where a car cleared the fence and landed in the stands about 20 foot from where I was sitting, Luckily it was at the start of the race and everyone was paying attention so everyone was able to clear out in time, Still a scary situation. PS. The driver was OK but he didn’t want to get out of the car, he was afraid he might have killed someone.

This tire thing is getting stupid. Hoosier should make 3 damn tires (hard,medium,soft)that are already cut and grooved enough that no one has to touch them. And they shouldn’t be allowed to touch them! All they gotta do is mount them and go. It’s that simple. But of course like every other big company they gotta do DUMB SHIT! Every sanction, every track. Same tires, same rules. Save a lot of BS. Guess that makes things to simple.
@ChrisS3c11 ай бұрын
These NLMT tires were supposed to be no groove/no sipe tires. That's how they were originally advertised. But that all went out the door right away. They should have them pre-cut on the block cross. Or should have used the WRS mold withan additional cut on the outer block.
@jimmieroan988111 ай бұрын
we had tracks/series doing that back in the late 70s early 50s, McCreery and hoosier both had tires, i think mccreary was first with the ready to race tire. some tracks required you to buy and mount tires at the track from a vendor they picked, but like most rules it didn't last long.

Apparently there is something BOTH sanctioning bodies feel is being done to that can and does alter the tire or they wouldn't have done. it.
