You inspired me to also try for 1,000 log slots on my HCIM by the end of this year. Got to top 25 (711) within the first year, but unfortunately don't have any purple from raids to speed things up. That medium clue log for boots is kind of crazy. I am at around 300 mediums with 0 of any of the 5 boots.
