Doja hates being repetitive she switches up her lokks and sounds with every album so I think this is her coping mechanism for performing the same song. And since it brings views and new fans, the label and award shows dont really care much how she performs the songs.

this video really could have done without the crazy misogynistic attitude when it comes to her, all you did was comment on her looks and how "sexy" she was this is a musical performance and there's so much more to her than just her looks she delivered incredible vocals but no comments were made about that the only person you praised for their musical ability is the guitarist it's 2021 now and this kind of behaviour towards women have to stop the musical industry (and every industry) is hard for women to find a place where they are respected for their art and only that, and that's because of behaviours like yours you better change it cause you're getting ridiculous this was a very disappointing and exasperating video
