Chuggaa spent so long trying to get out of Australia, only to have Jon persuade him to go back. He also spent a lot of time trying to rob Hans for a weapon and when he finally succeeds, he gets a shield. This game hates Emile ever since he fought Jon for shits and giggles

I kind of like how everybody is sort of adhering to how they all started playing Dokapon. Jon started as a Thief. Not only has he been the richest throughout the majority of the game, but he's also been switching classes by far the most (changing identities to suit the situation and being somewhat balanced). Tim started as a Warrior. Now he gets through his problems by smacking everything really hard and forsaking magic. Emile started as a Mage. I suppose it's due to necessity rather than favor (right now, anyway), but he's relying on magic to get through battles and microwaving pretty much anything he encounters.

The reason the halbert costs more than the shield is because Emile doesn't have a weapon to sell for it. The shield costs that much with Emile already having a good shield, which means it's more expensive.

Emile spent so much of the last recording session trying to steal from that shop and he finally does and it's not even a weapon. He also forgot to use a spell on Tim that turn, and Tim has repeatedly ignored the 2 town warps and the contract in his bag that would easily take him to freedom instead of whatever it is he's doing right now.

He can't use the contract becuase it will take away his items once he becomes a DArkling, but yeah, he could easily try and go back with a Town Warp, It's not like it could leave him in a worse position.

If I'm remembering Han's loss dialogue correctly, it's either his "best item" as in best selling, or "most popular item." In other words, whatever the players bought the most of at a given weapons store. It was Knitten Mittens back in Africa, and it was the Dural Shield in Australia because the monsters kept breaking your shields on your way there.

i know this series has already ended and this is recorded in advance but Emile...SELL YOUR SHIELD. look at 16:53 it says that he can buy the Ragnarok shield and the tower shield. which means his shield will take him out of debt and still get him decent sheld. i don't think 30 defence is worth being 1.8 million dollars in debt.

jon had drain a spell that takes half of the target's current hp, it wouldn't kill nor can it kill. great spell for bosses early game though...

Yeah but since it's not going to be useful against any boss in the future because of auto-reflect, and not useful against any enemies low or high level because he would be better off just killing them, he really should have just gotten a strong offensive magic and do what Emile's doing, just cheesing his way through fights.

sadly we can't understand why he has it nor can we have him change it. I always try to have offensive magic that actually does something in this game (like aurora the best spell in the game), then again I never have anything other then angel ring for my accessory thanks to it negating every status ailment in the game but wutev.

As someone who's played the story mode of this game 3 times before , let me tell ya, this episode captures EXACTLY what this particular chapter feels like. Only one person making progress, shit roll after shit roll, events that become too common and resorting to kill each other to get ahead. Also I wish Tim would actually use the alchemist' 'Alchemy' skill just so we can see how much money he'd make with his stupidly broken as fuck attack stat.

According to Dokapon wiki, the game simply choses randomly whether you'll be given the shop's most expensive weapon or shield. So any time they got what they didn't want, it was just plain RNG screwing them.
