The thing is, you could maybe even get away with illegal spraying if you did it that obviously. The police wouldn't know if you have the permission of the owner, but if you do it in broad daylight with equipment such as ladders etc., they might just assume that you are allowed to do it. I doubt any of the other people would contact the owner either.

Before the renaissance, there was no real class distinction in Europe between artistic vs. pragmatic painters. Like not to demean painting at all. It's just that they considered portraiture and fresco work more or less the same until people showed that there was a lot more to painting than just painting what you want. It requires a lot of techniques.

This is wonderful and I love your energy. I visited this city in 1990 and met absolutely wonderful locals. It was actually the happiest time of my life. I spent a year travelling in the old Eastern European nations after the Berlin Wall came down. More than anything I remember the people of Bratislava, super friendly people that really wanted to meet me and go out of their way to show me their city. I'd give anything to travel back in time and be there again.

Judging from the accents it may also have something to do with the older generation growing up under the USSR where everything was grey and bland and meant to demoralize the citizens and the only art that was around was shitty communist statues and other propaganda, they probably just appreciate seeing something like this a lot more then the younger generations.

Most likely because younger people were either in classes or working while he painted, it seemed like this was done mostly during what is traditionally considered 'business hours' :) in the ending shots you can see kids admiring it too, but between 8am-4pm, its mostly going to be older people outside :)
