Not all of us can write great poetry like yuri, with her splendid poem “knives.” Besides, there’s no such thing as proper poetry. Poetry is a type of art that can come in many forms such as free verse, haiku, and many others. I just happened to write a couplet (which is a type of poetry consistently flowing because of rhyming in the pattern abab, or aabb etc.) I wanted to go off of a classic poem of “roses are red violets are blue,” and figured there wasn’t a proper word that fitted Sayori better than “blue.” What else was I supposed to put? “Sayori is true”? Anyway for anyone who deeply analyzed the poem determining whether or not it was “proper poetry,” first of all: please do more than waste your life in the comment section of laurenzside’s video.
