Everyone who is saying "Don's was better" aren't comparing apples to apples. This was a rough demo & not polished in the studio. Yes, Pilson's vocals have more of a raw growl, but they're still very melodic in their own way.

For all the people who wished Pilson was singer of Dokken - wish no more, it's called T&N (originally called Tooth & Nail). They have been around since 2011, unfortunately have only put out one album, but they did a few Dokken songs (with guest singers) and the new original songs are sung by Jeff. Enjoy :)

I agree! Don has a very unique and melodic voice that can also sound tough when necessary. Jeff is a great vocalist and musician/composer, but in some spots, he almost sounds like Vince Neil. It's not Dokken without Don singing!

I think Don did this song better. He had that nigh pitched nasal thing going on, and when he had range, he'd actually end on higher notes than the music. But I do admit that Jeff did a better job than Don on that other song...Just Got Lucky...the acoustic version. Melodic wise, Jeff wins.

When you talk about this style of Metal, this band right here is hard to beat. Kinda the same way Judas Priest is in their style, either way I wouldn't wanna be in a band that goes on after either of the two.

Man both sound good but lynch made the sound. One of the greatest metal guitarist in the 80’s. In the 80’s I absolutely worn metal out. Mostly because during the grunge and rap years I continued to rock my 80’s. I just can’t get excited about it like I use too.

This is the demo that Don took to Germany to get a record deal behind, George, Jeff and micks back AFTER HE WAS TOLD NO HE COULDN'T HAVE THERE SONGS! This demo proves Don DID STEAL THERE MUSIC, called the band DOKKEN and the guys felt like they were strong armed into his idea of a band!

You should try singing 40 plus years and see how your voice changes. Time takes its toll, Don was a great voice in Rock. Pilson kicks ass and high respect for him, definitely Don is Dokken like it or not. He is trying hard to entertain every one.

Never liked dokken because of Dons vocals, nasal and wimpy...No power at all. This is better with jeff..I listened a couple of songs back then because of George playing.
