Just a friendly reminder that this piece is named the Kreutzer because Beethoven got into a drunken fight with George Bridgetower, the violinist to whom the sonata was originally dedicated, after Bridgetower insulted the woman that Beethoven liked. He named it after Kreutzer, a better violinist, purely out if spite. The more you know!

I was struggling, untalented, unmotivated lacking the ability to count after 8 years of playing the instrument. Watching Shigatsu made me realize that without emotion, music cannot tell its story. I learned this piece after 2 months. The practice was frustrating, but the results justified my near decade of work put into violin. Thanks you, Shigatsu, for reviving classical music for this generation.

People should understand that this piece is very difficult technically. Beginners shouldn't try something like this just yet; keep on practicing starting simple and going up in difficulty as you move on. If you wanted to learn this as your first piece, it'd probably take years.

Classical music honestly is so beautiful. Without words are able to put pictures to music notes, and the way the musician is portraying their song really makes you feel and see some form of scene. All you have to do is close your eyes.

I played the violin before watching this anime, it just inspired me more when I did watch. I play a completely different type of music than I used to. Now I play stuff more along the lines of this. I'm not NEARLY this good, I haven't even been playing for 2 years yet. But this anime helped me remember to add emotion to my music, and that it means the world to the audience, and that they can tell. I absolutely love all the music from this anime, from the actual soundtrack, to the songs they played. I will NEVER let this anime go.

The Megan Pixel She doesn't have the quality to be a teacher so she shouldn't. Being mad and visually upset has no benefiting effect for a person teaching any subject, so a teacher who does that a lot should switch jobs, or work on their problems back at 'home' (which are the roots of those negative behaviors.) So try not to be emotionally swayed if she does that. As long as you're enjoying drawing, and using her criticism to fix your art, then you're doing everything right so don't let it upset you

Same I though studying music in college would be fun. After all I love violin. Once I started college I learned that music majoring in college is not for your enjoyment. You have rules that didn't exist when it was just casual. You're being held to the standards of "masters" who have 10+ years of experience. Just because it was something I was passionate about did not mean I excelled. I quit and now play for fun. I don't need to be perfect with my intonation or my bowing. No one docks points for smiling. Not everyone is cut out for pro music. I will never have the finesse of someone who's studied 20 years. I won't and I'm okay with it. I just have fun now and leave it to the people who can handle the harsh criticisms

There are tons of renditions of this song by other musicians on KZbin. You, however, chose to listen to the video that is the rendition shown in the anime, has "Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso" in the title, and has a background and thumbnail of a character from the show. The Kreutzer is one of those pieces you would love to play, but the amount of time and effort it takes to learn it is kind of intimidating. That is my life when it comes to classical pieces like it. I as a Violinist, am intimidated by hard pieces like these, though that doesn't mean I am not going to not attempt it one day in the future.

Classical Music always sounds different depending on the performer, I only listen to certain versions of certain songs, because I don't like the others. For example I prefer the Shigatsu version of Love's Sorrow and 'Wrong Notes' Etude but I don't really prefer the Shigatsu for any of the others.

There's some octave figuring that's pretty tricky, but other than that, it's fairly straight forward. But I'm terrible at playing the beginning for exampleand all that octave-stuff. It’s so amazing how my entire view on classical music and violin has changed after watching this anime. I used to think that violin and music would never be big for me, but after watching this anime, here i am playing in my city’s youth orchestra and making my way up. Kaori taught me that I can’t just play songs, I need to express emotion and tell a story with them. edit---- its been a while, this was when I first really got interested in violin. now I play in my high school's orchestra, first chair, get solos and am aiming for the upper class music colleges. look where this anime brought me, i am very thankful for this anime for helping me find my true passion I truly do love music and have a reason for loving it and this anime helped me realize why. The piano is Beethoven but the violin isn't so you can't really call it Beethoven. It's the same song the violin is playing but mixed up a bit. Then again I'm no music expect myself.

I really needed this show it reminded me what classical music and playing and instrument in general is all about. Before hand all I wanted to do was play by the book and do what it said just like a sheep. Now I really wanna put everything have into it. So I am very grateful to this show.

I finished it in 7 hours. I didn't sleep the whole day. And despite my tiredness I took a walk outside and I felt a sense of dying and fulfilment whilst the warm April sun wan shining onto me. I was smiling all the time. A smile that expresses content but sorrow. Please, explain me why I am crying so much right now? It feels as if the music is making me comprehend the emotions of the Anime when I didn't understand them whilst watching or right after I finished it. I couldn't cry but now I cannot.

I am still watching this anime, but before I played on violin, but I stopped. I was horrible student. My teacher was losing hope with me and when I started hard working, he didn't notice it. I played hours on violin and again and again I was the same student with no ambition and then I started hate my music and I was so ashamed, because I don't know it. I made the same mistake. In the end I fell in depression in other reason and my hatred was increased I left the music class and my teacher in the end I abandoned violin and I lived so long with hatred, sadness, emptiness and confusion. It was horrible time and when I started watch this anime I suddenly again grab my violin and composition, which I didn't know to played for one year and for which I cryed and felt ashamed so much I... I... I knew how to played although not perfect, but I could played it without pauses hours and hours. I felt like I was shining, full of happiness and my life found the reason of smile. I am so grateful that I am still watching this piece of work. Thanks...
