I remember DTS a LONG time ago, if i remember correctly, the main difference was the DTS audio was seperate from the video, meaning it did not suffer from wear. and was stored digitally on CD's, meaning the audio quality was always heard the way it was originally intended. I think Jurassic Park used it.

Thx and Dolby digital are a great combo. My first Dolby Digital with THX experience was at Loews Village 7 in NYC with the 1992 film Batman Returns!

For clarification: THX is NOT a sound format. It's a certification program for theaters to perform to have the same audio and video qualities the studios in Hollywood had that most small theatres didn't have. It made more sense back then as Dolby Stereo (or any analog sound in general) has been around for a few years thanks to Star Wars, which coincidentally, RotJ was the first film to show off what THX certified theaters were capable of compared to non-certified places.

Of the many times I've been in theaters, I never see dts or SDDS.

if you have a laserdisc or vhs of the film flubber, you will spot the dts disc logo. Fact: when this logo started airing in 1995, if the disc animation finishes and you see the message"DTS in selective theaters", that was the end of the logo, it just pixelizes and then,that's it.
