The amount of real time data a director has to possess while making a movie always blows me away. They have to be ready to access data on mostly every single department that is apart of the production. When Denis referred back to the conversation he had about the reverberation & echo that might take place in the mountain strong holds - it’s just a tiny example of the massive amount of thought that goes into to these movies. I always think back to Peter Jackson & TLOTR trilogy - I get ill just thinking about the amount of responsibility and pressure he must’ve been under - just amazing

It is amazing indeed. And to top it all of, they have to make fresh, creative decisions based on this data (sometimes ones that have never been done before by anyone else) that end up in a product that has to be both COHESIVE & ENTERTAINING… All while a 100+ million dollar budget and their reputation is weighing on their back … yet they have fun doing it! Peak performance.

Figures he's in front of an APOCALYPSE NOW poster. Huge influence on the DUNE films.

thank you, once again, DUNE Team ❤ I would be interested in the workflow and collaboration between Part 1 and 2 sound design over two different teams, it blows my mind how well that works in the final result and continuity.
