Thank you for this video! As a little girl in the 70's I collected the little 8 inch dolls and many have become loose with legs and arms falling off. I was able to restring 5 of my little dolls in one morning - it was great putting them back in the display cabinet once again!

I tried to reattach the head the the old rubber bands came out which were holding the doll together ! I have never done anything like this before and it turned out quite well. I will get an outfit for Betsy and return her to my sister !

I'm so glad I found you, Ruby! I have several of these sweet little Madame Alexander dolls that were gifts from my mother. The first rubberband just broke. I had things halfway figured out, but have been unable to complete the task. Now that I've seen the first of your tutorials, I think I can do it. It's the hemostats!! Thank you for this video. I have a vintage Christmas tree angle. The rubber band broke just as you said in the video. Here’s my dilemma. One arm has closed brace on the other arm one end is open. Hi Lucy, I can't find any tutorials on how to re-attach a swivel head doll head with a base above it's neck as a separate piece (no stringing through the body option). Have you performed that before? Thanks for this video xx

RUBY LANE I have my sleeping baby doll I got for Christmas 1953. Sadly she fell out of the pram on Christmas morning and her hard plastic side split. Consequently no use restringing till her hard plastic sides have been joined. Have you any solution of how to ?? soften and join the side seams. My mum put a 'nappy' on her, which she still has on, and I call her my sick baby. I would like to have her repaired. Or is it impossible? Thank you

With the small rubber banded dolls, I find it easier to buy replacement bands online instead of using cord. The limbs just fit better with the correct tension. Stringing cord works best on dolls that were originally strung that way.

I have some Alexander dolls I restrung but seem loose. One is a 1990's Jackie and one Coco. They have swivel waist. So the legs seems loose.

Not sure if you can help me, but I have a Ginny doll from the 80's which has the legs set into the body without stringing but the arms and head were strung. So I can't bring the band on the head down to the legs. Not sure where to attach the other end of the head band. Would you know? Thank you!

Dear Lucy. pls. show how to attach hook to the doll head. I have exactly same doll as on your video. Head hook fall down as I opened old box with new doll and the doll falling apart. I tried to attached it to metal wire inside of doll head, but only damaged doll eyes. Doll now keep her eyes opened, but hook is detached. I gave up not to make more damages to the doll. Pls. help.
