We live in a rural part of the state, and have a Dollar General 8-10 miles from us. Also have a new Family Dollar just 3 miles away. There is also a FD with a tiny (3 rows) of DT inside it. Our nearest DT of any size is 35 miles away so I don’t go often. You’re so lucky to have so many!

I missed this shopping trip unfortunately as I've been ill. To tired and sick to even watch shopping much less getting out. Really interested in your take on the Dollar General store. I live in a small town of 60,000 but have 4 DT, 5 DG and 4 FD in town. I don't think any are more than 15 minutes away but I tend to shop mostly at DT. It is hit and miss with stock. Sometimes it is so crowded with stuff in the aisles it is difficult to get around and find the "good stuff." Especially now that the holiday seasons have arrived and with all the fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations the stores are pretty messy. And every one has different stock so it is a treasure hunt to find things. I guess that's how I get my exercise. Appreciate taking us along and all your comments. So lovly. And I agree you doclook very fetching in those PJ's! Dare you to wear them to the store LOL. Believe me I've seen much worse than that. Kids wear sleep pants and such everywhere around here. Stay well.

Oh Nancy I'm sorry to hear you are ill. I sure hope you start to feel better real soon. Yes Dollar Tree is my absolute favorite 😍 I'm sure it's difficult to maneuver in a store that's in disarray. Thankfully I'd say only 1 or 2 of the 13 DTs close to me are on the messy side. Thank you for taking time out to spend with us. Feel better ❤️

I stopped at DG the other day. The prices weren’t as bad as last time I was there. Still a terrible selection of pet food but everything else was ok. I may have spent slightly more than I would have at Walmart but-I didn’t have to go to Walmart! 😊😊😊❤

@ in Illinois, Dollar General stores are everywhere. They’re in almost every small town and some of them even sell limited fresh groceries like meats, fruits, and veggies.

Im a loyal dollar tree person, but i have a dollar general that is about the same distance as my dollar tree, but in a different direction, but when I have to go that way , I will stop in the dollar general. I like to shop the dollar isle. I could never give up my dollar tree shopping. You do have to make sure which is the better deal.

Hey Shelby and Bill! I’m in SC, across the river from Augusta, GA. I’m not sure of the radius, but we have a plethora of DT stores within say a 20 minute drive of my house. Most are an absolute mess most all of the time. 😡🤦🏻‍♀️ It seems that the customers don’t care if they make a mess and the ONLY time I have ever seen the DT employees get in any kind of hurry to straighten up is when they know that the higher ups are coming to their store. The rare exceptions are the two or three stores that are new (6 months or less). Those are usually pretty neat and orderly. The same goes for the Dollar General stores in the area. I will watch a video about what Dollar General has for Christmas….. I will head to one of the MANY DG stores in the area. Again with the exception of the newer (usually stand alone stores) the stores are a total mess. They are for the most part understaffed and a lot of the staff just don’t seem to care to actually work or there is one or two employees in the entire store and they can’t keep up. I have looked and looked for many of the things that y’all have featured in your videos and that others have featured in their videos for the DT and the DG, the merchandise just hasn’t made it to our stores. I guess we in the southern states are near the end of the list.☹️ Don’t get me wrong, I still find plenty to buy, but rarely ever what I’m actually looking for. It’s definitely a challenge and can be somewhat discouraging. Oh well, just have to be patient. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not sure how we are so fortunate to have such awesome Dollar trees. I have to say at the Dollar general I only saw 1 employee in the whole store and at our Dollar trees I see a minimum of 4 a shift.

I've seen some videos targeting DG, saying they treat employees unfairly etc. I think there's a hidden agenda for doing so. DG has some good stuff at good prices. I find it fun to go and scope it out. I bought the $1 gingerbread garland figuring I use it as it or could use the individual ginger men to decorate a package etc. They were too cute to pass up.

Ty you reminded me about my stocking. I fill it with/my favorite DT things & it is quite large & furry red & white. It was from DT eons ago. I fill it early & forget what’s in there. So it’s full of surprises on Christmas Eve.

I go to dollar tree weekly with a list. ( one stop shopping) dollar general is not far from our dollar tree but I just don't go there. Although have heard regarding dollar general as with other stores watch that items ring up correctly.

Hi Shelby and Bill 😊Dollar General is great for household essentials not so much for dollar items on Saturdays you save $5 of $25 plus lots of coupons on app. you can get toilet paper paper towels dish liquid and other things up to $25 and maybe pay $10 to $14 i coupon there all the time . They offer good BOGO or buy one 2nd one 50 percent.

I was at a local to my area, Dollar General, store recently and found some great finds in the Dollar Deal section. And those Santa’s Cookies and Reindeer Chow snacks for $1.25 are very yummy!!

In Pittsburgh I could drive 10 minutes in any direction and get to all my stores.DT,DG,Aldi,Target.Not in NH!!! I can get to 3 DTs,but DG is far and doesn't compare to Pgh.Same with Aldi.I took a road trip to Mass and forgot about sales tax!

Hello Shelby. Dollar General is somewhat inaccessible to me, and I must admit that I'm not particularly fond of their stores. While they may be convenient for those in the vicinity, personally, I prefer dollar tree. Apologies to anyone who enjoys shopping there.
