Thomas is a 2X North American Champion in his kick-boxing career and Ashley is a network-marketing professional.

Our son Miloh was born 12/12/13 and passed away 5/20/14.

This star bowls are cute...but you cannot put food in spray painted containers..you could paint just the outside taping off rim, leaving inside unpainted

The main reason I don't buy plastic containers from the Dollar Store, is that I don't like the ugly hot pink, or hot green colors. I never thought about painting them. Thank you so much for this wonderful DIY. Finally something easy and cheap!!!

Right! I had the same concern but if you just paint the outside of the bowls then you still get the same effect and can still use them for food items.

That tray idea is just delicious. I'm doing a dessert table for a graduation party (on a tight budget) and that tray is going to be perfect for display for just $3.00. Something similar would cost $30 - 50 and I think your idea looks just as good and no one would ever know you made for next to nothing. AWESOME!!!!!!!

April Stjames I would personally put a clear topcoat on top to protect the chemicals from getting onto food but I’m sure you would have to hand wash to prevent the topcoat from coming off ? They have tons of top coats that are for foods and dishes to choose from

When I paint glass for food I always paint the outside - never the inside

They're all super cute!! I think I like the tray the most. I just love trays. I have them all over my house. 😁 I would have removed the glass from the bottom one before painting and added some scrapbook paper so I could change it out for all the seasons and holidays. I loved the tray!! And one alternative for the vases. I have put regular paint inside and let the liquid paint coat the whole inside of the vase by turning it around/sideways/etc. That ensures the outside of the vase is still smooth and glassy, plus the paint won’t peel over time.

Hi, do you put anything over the spray paint to prevent it from chipping? Also, anything over the candy dish inside so the candy isn't touching spray paint area? These ideas are great !

No disrespect but if you dont have this items laying around dont make sense. Tj max marshall home good target already have them 10-12 dollars ( the tray) which would be the cost of buying all materials. I have some of these laying around at home and definitely repurposing them. Thanks for the ideas.

Ashley, some awesome paint I have found that works so much better and it goes way further is the Dixie Belle paint. They now have the Silk Paint it has built in primer, top coat etc..Here is the site with the information about it, I buy it locally where I live where i have a friend that sells it in her store. Many people paint their furniture and cabinets with it since it is also mildew resistant and it covers A LOT. A 16oz jar will cover 75sq ft. I do not buy their brushes because to me they are too pricey, so I go to Harbor Freight and get their Chip Brushes. There will be different brushes needed for certain projects. Some cute ideas, but is it really that hard to buy white vases? I could see painting them a color to match something, but Dollar Tree sells white vases. Seems like an unnecessary extra step and a waste of money buying the paint. Speaking of paint... NEVER put food in something that has been spray painted. If you spray paint the outside only of something that is glass, the inside will show the color just the same.

Love your ideas. I would have removed the leaves from the white vases...i think it will be more effective and I won't have sprayed the inside the star vases to place food in them. I would have sprayed the exterior only.

I love the tray. Another idea with that is that you could use one of the papers from inside a frame, and lay it in the bottom before you spray paint. Then, take it out, and instead of painting the glass too, you're left with a cute painted tray that you can put pictures in! That makes it customizable so you can put like, beach pictures or family pictures in there.
