Dollar Store Haul Equestrian Edition!

Hi everyone! I am sure you have shopped at a dollar store, but have you shopped for horse items at the dollar store? If you haven't, you really should! You can find so many equestrian related items at the dollar store, for....a dollar!
And you need to think outside of the box. For example, you can buy some really pretty frames and make a photo collage of all of your horse photos. Or, if you cant afford a bridle rack, you can buy one here until you can make a really nice one. And of course cleaning supplies, like squirt bottles, scrub brushes, sponges, and even squeegees (for a sweat scraper) and bins for storing things in.

I ended up with sponges, Tgel Shampoo, snaps for buckets and for tack, squirter bottles, leather wipes, wash mit, leather wipes, leather conditioner, and a bunch more.

BreeKayBe don't use Tgel in horses it's medicated

Instead of baby powder you can wash your horses legs with baking soda to make them whiter and brighter!! Just a little shampoo and so,e baking soda works wonders! Just be sure to rinse it out well!!

I agree. I wouldn't dare use earphones while riding my horse because a group of bike riders came up on us fast once and now he hates them. I must listen and watch for them so I can warn them to dismount from their bikes while we pass, he wants to lash out at them if they don't. Working on helping him get over this and if they dismount he gives them the wild eye and doesn't stop watching them until we're about 30 feet away. Last time he lashed out I almost fell out of the saddle and my friend also had a hard time because my horses reaction made her mount react.

There are a Ton of things in my tack room from the $1 store. Those racks work well to hold the bags my polos are in. Bags also came from $1 store- lots of styles and sizes/ colors. A bottle of alcohol and make-up removal pads for injections, shampoo, conditioner, S-hooks for hanging stuff, a few small tools, utility knife for hay strings, shoe polish for hooves, towels, rubber gloves.... This list is endless

Our horses go CRAZY for the ginger snaps from the dollar store! (obviously people should check the ingredients and make sure there are no weird chemicals in them before feeding) I DID NOT KNOW THEY HAD THOSE CLOTHES RACKS! Im going to go get some tonight for our next show! Great vid!

I put speakers on the saddle because my horse loved to listen to Celtic Women while we worked. If he hadn't heard the song before, he'll stop and close his eyes until the song was over and then we'd continue.

They're seem to be different types of microfiber cloths. How do you know which type to use for which job? There's long pill, short pill. Which one for polishing leather, etc.?

Much as I like the Dollar Tree for some things, most of the items you've recommended I would pass on because I prefer to buy them at Costco or Sam's Club for better quality. I do like their glass cleaner, and Pepperidge Farm breads and rolls they sell here in NJ and Pa areas.

When I ride my horse on long trail rides, I only use 1 of the 2 earbuds. Listen to music and still hear your surroundings. Plus I often get my horse some mints or other treats. :) Seems like my horse makes it her mission to break as many of my spray bottles as possible...
