I think I might try the buffalo plaid material/scarf to wrap the cane and decorate it with burlap and then reverse that. That way they compliment each other and several in a container or make a couple to hang on a door. Love this DIY thanks for sharing

I love these. I saw you do them last year and so reviewing this year. I would like to add maybe a 'shabby chic' sort of canes. Would regular fabric work? And maybe instead of cutting strips with rotary cutter, maybe tearing strips for a frayed sort of look? I'm still new at this so just wondering. I have a great galvanized bucket I'd like to use for a grouping of varied canes. Thank you for your inspirational ideas. Have a very merry and blessed Christmas! 🙏✝️🎄🎅🏻⛄️🥰

Very cute! I love these candy canes as is but I really love how you gave them a more rustic Christmas look. I went to Walmart last night and I saw they had candy canes like this for $0.98 but I didn't look to see if they were 32in long like Dollar Tree. It's funny how Dollar Tree and Walmart will carry a lot of the same items and sometimes Walmart will be a few dollars more and sometimes Walmart will be cheaper.

Glue Guns & Roses So true! I love making these candy canes. I’m about to do a tutorial for the clear plastic ornaments and it is a better deal to buy them in bulk from Walmart than DT, but the ones I’m using are from DT.
@GlueGunsRoses6 жыл бұрын
@@CreativeontheCheap I'm so happy you mentioned the Walmart ornaments! Do you happen to know if the colored plastic ornaments are cheaper to buy in bulk from Walmart versus Dollar Tree as well? I decided this year I'm not using glass ornaments again until the kids are grown. For some crazy reason I never thought to look at Walmart for cheap plastic no shatter ornaments. Although I will admit I have way to Walmart as much as I can it was a fluke that I was there last night. ❤ much love❤ -Megan

AWESOME Idea! FANtastic Job! I LOVE your vlogs, already ~ I am a new subscriber...I've been watching your videos all evening long! I can't wait to make these! I just bought a grey plastic little tub from DT, so I will make the small ones, too, for a centerpiece, and the big ones just as gifts when I entertain I will let each family member and/or friend grab one according to their decor - I have gobs of trimmings! (Ha!) How Cute, Just To Have One Or Two Leaning Against A Fireplace Or Front Entrance ~ And Even The Little Ones To Make Napkin Rings (?!?) Or Christmas Tree Ornaments! Thanks, Courtney! :)

i just made the rope one and im not clear on the frayed one you cut it and fray it but then do you use it doubled and how far would you you guess to cut a pies or just guess
@CreativeontheCheap6 жыл бұрын
Sharon Ryan Yes, cut it and fray some of the ends. I still fold it over when I wrap it around. As far as how much, I would say about 36 inches. I would take the roll, cut in half about 24 inches in (but not cut it off). Start wrapping and then if you need more, you are still connected to main roll. Hope that makes since! 😊
