Love this idea!! Can't WEIGHT to get to Dollar Tree! Unfortunately my closest one is an hour away.... I've been seeing pictures of these scales used for hanging plants and really wanted some for my porches, but they're a bit out of my budget right now. Now I can DIY them!! I used to do a lot of the "cinnamon rust" for primitive décor items that I made to sell and I would mix a bit of glue or mod podge with my paint before adding the cinnamon and found it would stick much better. I would also spray on a bit of clear coat after to hold it and it would also give the rust a beautiful deep realistic look. You're ideas are so creative!!

Oh my gosh, Your scales are SO CREATIVE!! I absolutely love them!! I haven’t seen anyone do these!! This is definitely something on my to do list! I have seen the cinnamon technique just recently (IT BLEW MY MIND!! Why have I never seen that before!! 😂) but I saw someone use it directly with the spray paint instead of with the acrylic paint I tried both - I found if you add the cinnamon between coats of the spray paint it works AMAZINGLY WELLS to get that rust look! Seriously this is a technique WE ALL NEED TO KNOW!! Whether it is with the spray paint directly or with the acrylic, this would have saved me LOADS OF TIME!! 😫🤩 Also I came across some newer paint colors, I first saw them at Michael’s and passed up on getting any, I was on a mission for a different project then! The other night I saw them at Walmart & it was just what I was looking for - they are called Brushed Metal & they come in 5 or 6 different colors - Antique Gold, Gold, Bronze, Silver, Rose Gold, there is also some darker ones I cant think of off the top of my head. But they are with the Apple Bottom colors & run under $2. I decided to try the Antique Gold - unfortunately Walmart was out of the Bronze & one of the darker colors I wanted, but Michaels had a plentiful stock. Anyways WOW! I absolutely LOVE what the Antique Gold did! I was able to achieve an older rusty look with this as well! It was PERFECT for smaller details, and blending with this was SUPER EASY! The drying time on these was very short, which I think is helpful for us crafters as well! I am excited that more options are becoming available for us, it is always fun to experiment with new techniques, like the cinnamon - this one BLEW ME AWAY!! And a technique I will absolutely use going forward & OFTEN, its also nice to have new products that DON’T break the bank & do a great job (I’m unable to work due to chronic illnesses so I’m always looking for inexpensive idea’s, and products!) Thank you again, these scales are seriously one of the BEST ideas I have seen! Great Job!! Love your channel, have been a subscriber for a while and always look forward to seeing what you come up with next!

Oh wow did you ever nail that. Awesome! I have a hanging scale and I love to decorate it seasonally. I think I'm going to have to make this one to along with the other scales you made. Love your channel and your ideas. You inspire me. I am getting back into crafting now that I am able to see again. I was nearly legally blind from cataracts. I had surgery last year and just had my 6 month check up. I feel so very blessed to be able to see again and create and be inspired. Shucks I'm just thankful to be able to watch your videos and see what you are creating. Lol😁
