Hey Elaine! I'm in the Seattle, WA area! I actually just finished folding all the pages in my book! Now on to the really fun part in decorating with flowers and lace! What a great and creative craft with books! I'm a Christian and used a book about The Holy Spirit. With every few pages I folded seemed to be another chapter that I found myself reading again! Can't wait to add a beautiful dove that sometimes represents The Holy Spirit! It has a lot of meaning to me! TU so much for sharing!

My neighbor used to make dolls using a book like that for the dress bottom of the dolls when I was a kid 50 years ago. I think my sisters and I all made one at time or another. I can remember folding a book or maybe Reader's Digest

I remember back in 6th grade (1976) the art teacher had us take a reader's digest and fold it like this. I painted my birdcage purple and added flowers to it. Then about 8 years ago I took a hymnal and made a hymn book angel. I crocheted her bodice and my husband made me a wooden head for her. She still sits pretty in my living room. Hubby leather, blue walls, you know big recliners and such. He wins in a few areas. I add accents to help. I love bird cages, this will be an excellent addition to my collection. This is so beautiful. i must try it. I love the shape and reminds me of a carousel ....... mmm, another project i think.You are so talented Elaine!!!! I am doing a shabby chic themed wedding next year for my Nephew so i may incorporate these and do them as the table number platform, i can feel my creative brain kicking in here....or maybe the centre piece.... I would even consider one for home decor as my apartment is very Art Deco 1930s, a black and gold one would look gorgeous, just guild on the coulour.
