These are really cute. My Gramma and Grampa use to make these for their place and for their church well over 50+ years ago with wire hangers, so this isn't new. I remember being really little and she and my siblings and all of my cousins would help our Gramma makes these. Her Grandmother taught her how to make these because they were poor and this is how they decourated their home. They also made Angels and Crosses out of the wire hangers.

I love glittery things, but do not like glitter flying off over everything else, so YES, i have absolutely done this many many times, and apart from a bit of glue on the fingers holding the item still, I'm bewildered to know what other mess there is...? Are you not able to paint on thin layers spreading it out so it doesn't drip everywhere! Are you using a wall roller instead of a small paintbrush? When simply wet gluing items together are you also drowning in mess? What's the difference to whether some glitter has been sprinkled into it or not? Seriously, if you're making that much mess with a bit of glitter glue and a brush, maybe you should avoid crafting and buy store bought items!

I just LOVE this project! When starting to watch your video..I thought you just only make the first layer and as you were going along (still making the first layer) I was thinking 🤔 ‘ that’s pretty..now how is she going to cut off the hooks ?? -This will me interesting as to how..’ then next thing- your doing a second layer! Well that totally caught me by surprise and I would not have guessed a second layer was added. It didn’t seem there was a second layer, though I was more looking at how beautiful they are! -Yup.. I’m off to grab me some hangers shortly!! Now I have beautiful things to make 😃😃 that will use up all the big bags of glitter (gold, silver, red and green individual big glitter bags full !! They were a clearance deal and like $.50 soo well I grabbed them ! ) that I have been lugging around in my craft bin (not touched for about 8 years !!) and every time I come across those bags- ‘ugh..wish my kids were crafty and would use these bags of glitter some how ugh..may prob have them still when grand children are around.. ugh ugh’ Now- thanks to you..I most likely, now later down the road will end up buying more glitter for the day I do have grand children cause I just might have no more glitter then!! (...dreaded the glitter.. watched your video just now.. and a crazy spell come over me- I instantly become ‘glitter’ happy just like a fairy with a wand full of pixie dust touching snow flakes everywhere!! ✨✨❄️❄️✨✨🖌🧚♀️🧚🏿♂️✨❄️✨❄️🖌🧚🏿♂️🧚♀️✨❄️✨❄️ Thanks!! ...hmmm.. now I wonder if my kids will be jumping in and joining me?? 🤔🤔🤔 lol Now going to be Subscribing right away and now off to see what other videos you have!!

Another winner! I made the rice ornaments and they turned out brilliantly. Do you think the snowflakes could be done with full size hangers?
@ElainePetrakisMidnightCrafter6 жыл бұрын
Thank you Linda! I'm so glad you tried the rice ornaments!! I don't see why the full size hangers wouldn't work but it will probably be HUGE!! You'll have to try it and let me know....not much to lose but a few zip ties and 5 minutes!! Happy crafting and have a very Merry Christmas!!!!

Hi Elaine, great job! I think I'm going to add gluing the hangers just to make them tighter and a bit more stable 😉 I just love these! Thank you so much for posting. I'm going to go get the material to do a few.

I was just thinking the same thing like gluing the underside of it possibly just to give it some strength well that is if it's on a wall cuz you wouldn't see it but I guess if it's hanging freely that might be a different story LOL

This is genius and sooo cute!! They would hold up well outside. I can see them left plain white hanging in a tree or on a shrub. Love these!! Thanks for sharing your tutorial.

Elaine, I made two of these using adult hangers, it's easier if you set I[ the [atterm pf eight hangers and zip tie them together. then set up the next set of eight hangers and zip tie them together, put one set of eight hangers on top of the other with staggering points and zip tie the two together. Then I took a string of lights and zip tied them to the snowflake starting on the outer rim and zip tied them in a circular pattern to the center of the snowflake. They are amazing.
@sylviaseri42355 жыл бұрын
Great idea!! Because they are plastic, they would be great outdoors wired to posts, attached to the house or fence, or in the yard!
