I was a little ticked when I heard about the price increase but then I realized they haven't raised their prices since they opened in the mid 90s. No other store can say that, I don't think. :)

Hiiii there!! Dollar tree Assistant manager here!! Just wanting to point out that Dollar Tree prices haven't changed in over 30 years, even with inflation! Not sure about all Dollar Trees and them being in different districts they have their own rules but my location we've had a pretty good turn around as we are bring back our discountinued item because we're able to make a profit. We're also bringing in better quantities(instead of 2 pack, its 3 or 4 pack) and the quality of other items. There are a small selection of food items that will be staying the same $1 deal and our cards but most items are now $1.25! I know this was sudden but it was sudden for all us as well, my store specifically didnt know anything till the weekend it changed and we had to close it down early to hang up different signs. The price increase has nothing to do with inflation, just simply giving our customer better quanities and quality for still an awesome price! Just to add to this, the name will stay the same, I've gotten a few questions about that. Our slogan was "Everything's $1", but our store name will stay as "Dollar Tree" just think of it like as a Dollar General! Hope this answers any questions and for atleast my store we will continue to thrive on giving the best shopping experience and amazing customer service that everyone deserves! Hope everyones getting the same in return!! 😊

I don't mind paying the increase. It had to happen because they were carrying better items and I'm sure they couldn't sustain that for long. Prices for everything - everywhere are increasing. I TRULY hope Dollar Tree is using that 25% increase in sales to take better care of their employees.

I just bought some Valentine’s Day decor items last week and to be honest the quality of the items is AMAZING! I purchased 2 vday houses and a decor conversation heart and they are heavy pieces made of wood. I also purchased some Tin decor like lips, an envelope, and cupcakes…also very nice quality. If things keep looking this much better I can definitely accept the .25 increase.

I wanted to give you some tips on the bouillon paste, for every teaspoon of paste i add 1-2 tablespoons of either water, vegetable stock or cream then pour that into the ice cube trays and freeze. Once frozen remove from trays and place in a ziploc freezer bag until ready to use . They will last up to a year especially if they are individually wrapped

In my local dollar tree I’ve seen the items that have come in be much better quality. A 25% jump done at one time is definitely huge but I will pay the extra 25 cents if the quality increases like with a few of the items I’ve purchased lately. Overall Walmart is cheaper than dollar tree so that’s a good thing to keep in mind for some items. Also, I noticed a couple of containers say made in the usa on them which is something I had not seen before

I feel your pain! Our stores went to 1.25 in early December. The original notice said not everything would be 1.25 and they were “committed” to keeping as many prices at $1 as they could. Fast forward to yesterday. (First day back shopping at $ Tree for over a month. EVERYTHING was 1.25 except 3 greeting cards. (2 greeting cards were 1.25.) so my 37 items were 45.50. (49.39 with tax) I live in Washington were the rate of inflation has been higher than most other states. But 25% price hikes seems extreme to me! There was also nothing new or exciting. I think I will be limiting my shopping there. By the way thanks for introducing me to Miss A! Their bath bombs are awesome!

.25 is quite the raise especially if you buy in bulk.......I used to love going to the Dollartree in the US because it always fascinated me that EVERYTHING in the store was one price....here in Canada, our dollar stores were never like that....even though they are called 'dollar stores' things range in price from 1.00 up to sometimes 10.00.....so it always seemed contradictory to me.....however, when I did travel to the US, I always have to add extra onto the prices of things to accommidate for the exchange rate which fluctuates constantly and can sometimes be 40% ,so actually 1.00 would be 1.40 for me.......I have to make purchasing decisions based on that.................anyway...great finds!!......love your vids, Melissa!!....:-D.

G'Day Melissa and Paco, Love your Dollar Tree hauls. Unfortunately in my opinion, the price rises are due to the world economy, we have it here in Australia too. Some of our cheap shops have exploded their prices, that they are in alignment with premium retail stores. Which doesn't help those who are living in poverty, which also in the current economic climate is increasing exponentially as well. Am looking forward to your next haul. :D Stay safe and take care. Hugs for Paco :)

😭I feel you girl. 😔Specially since we are always on a budget. 😅I actually wanted to go today and I thought: "I'm with my son and he usually goes crazy asking for everything 🤣" maybe not. But, I understand dollar tree, as a crafter I can tell you they have a lot of loss, sometimes you sell the items for double or triple of what you pay for. Another thing is, and this one that got me mad, people are buying everything out of the shelves and selling them on Mercari for wayyy more than a dollar. It's very annoying to tell you the truth. So, 😊I kind of understand them now. 🤣Still hurt though.

Hi Melissa. I can relate to what you are saying about a 25% increase at dollar tree. In Canada our dollar tree was always 1.25 but they are slowly increasing prices to 1.50. Doesn't seem like much but absolutely everything here in Canada is increasing in price and I always break down the increase in percentage too. To me that is the true inflation cost.

Dollar Tree ruined the magic that made them what they are today. If they wanted to add a dollar plus section, then fine. But they let greed win over common cents (see what I did there?) I'm personally not excited about making "wish lists" anymore. This was the ONE THING that brought me legit joy. Now I will be thinking about my total, putting things back, and overall regret buying anything at all. No more skipping to get a basket and unleashing my imagination. Nope, now I'll be skimming and muttering to myself. Believe it or not, but a lousy quarter makes or breaks a budget. Especially when multiplied a hundred times over. It's friggin depressing and frustrating.🙄😤 And now I can't ADD TO CART to soothe my soul. I need a new hobby now. UG! Well, I'm off to go sulk, wallow & dwell in my personal hell.😭 Damn you Dollar Tree!😑 I feel faint.🥴 I need chocolate. And a couple dozen rolls of Quarters!😂🤣 Stay Awesome 💕💕💕

It took me a couple times before I realized everything went up. There weren’t signs everywhere so when I seen a sign it was by rice I was like why is the rice a $1.25? But still a lot of stuff in there you won’t get for that price anywhere else. I went there today to grab a bag of pork rinds I ended up buying 3 things then went to Aldi’s and the pork rinds for a bigger bag (I didn’t need a bigger bag though) was 90 something cents so I’ll be stopping by there last if needed not first.
