Today I'll be mainly playing with scout, and strike drones (UAV's) recently added in War Thunder "Drone Age" major update.
Scout drones can be launched from any high tier light tank (researchable module). Strike Drones require 750 spawn points (similar to nuke bomber) to launch.
We'll try to find out can you destroy a helicopter with the scout UAV?

I wanted to release it earlier, but I had to wait for KZbin to unlock 4k. But I'm sure Dollar army never sleeps 💪 I'm not gonna lie drones are pretty cool, but they also make top tier even less about tanks and more of a death match. I like that you can chase helicopters, but it's so easy to revenge kill right now (Like me in Fulda), and AA can even see you up there since Drones can spawn above the battlefield, in radar deadzone. I played all day , and no new map... Did anyone even had a match in it?

The best part is since no one gets the kill from the helicopter it will get crew locked if the person leaves the game before it finishes. Now that is absolutely incredible to think about. Great video man!

@@azmanabdula I think works like the player of the heli crashes into terrain by himself (like, when you do revenge bombing and you crash, the plane will be blocked for 5/6 minutes)

I have discovered something, something quite interesting. The 37mm M63 shell for the M22, M5A1, and M6A1 has been changed from HE to SAPHE. With a max pen of 32mm's and an explosive filler of 38grams it's a fairly effective round at shorter ranges. This is very much the case for the M22 at its BR. Anyways, a splendid video as usual 😁👍

Oh wow you're right! It's really unreliable and it gets Gaijin'ed really easily, but when it does penetrate it is absolutely devastating! Could be a lot like the Swedish APDS, unbelievably powerful if you know how to aim it right. Just instead of targeting crew like with APDS, with this you're targeting weak spots in armor.

@@hedgeearthridge6807 In the Locust I take 39 rounds of M51B1 APCBC and 11 of the M63 now. The SAPHE is only really good for shorter ranges regardless of what you're shooting at. It's great against Japanese tanks and anything from the sides in close quarters when the solid shot will take three shots to get all of the enemy's crew

Amazing as always Betty! Fun Fact: If you use a light tank tier VII, the scout drone has thermals, just so you know! (Also, squad marker can at least mark the enemy for you, then you can scout them or mark them publicly for your team)

You can use the squad scout thingy with the drone to mark location and arty, i use it against smoke screens. Launch. Mark. Fire through smoke.

Great run in that last game! Light tanks can really make for a band day when they get on the flanks like that and can move quickly around the enemy area. I’ve done it a few times in the Stryker MGS.

Tip if you have squad mark binded (Set target for squad/ in controls->Common-> last one in basic), you can easier locate the enemies hiding on the bushes, and you'll see where it is on map and minimap.

the problem i've noticed with drones right now is when you're flying a jet (a G91 in my case), even if you fly around 500/600 km/h you won't be able to see a drone until the last moment (frontally) and if you pass it you won't be able to find it again because it's too thin. ofc having a radar helps but when you don't have one finding a drone is really hard on some maps. i think there's a problem with the render distance of drones.
