AMX 50-Foch is probably the best casemate tank destroyer in war thunder at the moment. Great frontal armour(against kinetic rounds), pretty mobile, has amazing secondary, and decent main cannon. It's fun beast to play ;) Made in France

Man the foch is so good when there's no planes, no helis, no ATGMS, no HEATFS, no APFSDS, no arty, nobody flanking, nobody shooting your barrel out, and nobody shooting APHE at the police light on the roof. Shame you can guarantee almost all of those things to happen most games 😂

If I've learned anything in War Thunder, it's that there comes a point where the thickness of your armor doesn't matter. Maybe it's just me but with those interleaved twin road wheels, front wheel drive sprocket and the particular way the square intake / exhaust filter at the back with the circular fan in the middle is designed this looks pretty much like a reinterpretation of a WWII era German King Tiger / Panther transformed into a STUG 🤔

the foch is very niche to use in warthunder. it has an advantage in long range scenarios with its scope, high velocity gun and angled armor. but when it comes to maps that are plagued with buildings, hills or intense vegetation it becomes stunted and reduced in efficiency. sadly gaijin likes to make almost every map into a close-quarters world of tanks map. But when you get those maps with wide-open space the foch thrives. i wish they would just make randomly generated maps because gaijin is terrible at making maps. sure there will be bugs and uneven terrain but eventually they will get it right. imagine every map just being different with pro's and con's every time you go to battle. it would be so interesting.
